OBJECTIVES
 To prepare self compacting as per EFNARC guidelines.
 To induce calcite precipitating bacteria in concrete mix
and measure the physical mechanical properties of the
mix and self healing capacity of the mix.
• Isolation of bacteria.
• Identification of bacteria.
• Concrete sample preparation with bacteria.

 To measure the self healing capacity of the sample


casted.

Determination of specific gravity of Fine
aggregate

 Weight of empty bottle (w1)= 666 (gm.)


 Weight of empty bottle + Fine aggregate (w2)=852 (gm.)
 Bottle + Fine aggregate + Water (w3)=1666(gm.)
 Weight of empty bottle+ water (w4)=1552(gm.)

(W2 – W1)
Specific Gravity=
(W2 – W1)-(W3 – W4)

=> Specific gravity of fine aggregate= 2.58

Sp.G ranges from 2.5 – 3.0 as per IS-383

Determination of specific gravity of Coarse
Aggregate

 Weight of empty bottle (w1)= 666 (gm.)


 Weight of empty bottle + Coarse aggregate (w2)=852 (gm.)
 Bottle + Coarse aggregate + Water (w3)=1666(gm.)
 Weight of empty bottle+ water (w4)=1552(gm.)

Specific Gravity=
(W2 – W1)-(W3 – W4)

=> Specific gravity of coarse aggregate= 2.78

 Weight of aggregate after immersed in water for 24 hrs.=379gm

Initial and final setting

 Initial setting time of cement was recorded as 40 minutes
And 27 seconds.
 Final setting time of cement was recorded as 48 minutes and
23 seconds.

 Slump flow class SF2.
 Slump ranges from 660mm- 750mm.
 Slump flow was found to be 26 inches which is greater
than 660 mm.
 SF2 is suitable for normal applications.
