Education & Training


Modeling is a career that doesn't require any specific degree or credentials. The maximum education that is required
is a highschool diploma.

The study that is involved is a completed 4 years of highschool. The cost for it is free, but you could also take a
modeling for extra help and guidance in to becoming a better model. Besides the modeling class you would need to
know a lot about fashion and how colors of clothing blend together you can see these things by reading magazines
study pictures and comparing them to your own.

The entrance requirements for the course is a high school diploma.


Job Skills, Talents and Experience

The special skills, talents, or personality traits are necessary for this occupation is that your
flexible, dependable, hardworking, reliable, and capable of taking direction, and that you should
be able to show emotion at certain points, and then sometimes you have to be unemotional and
have a serious looking face.

You could gain this experience by going to casting or taking pictures this helps you get use to
being in front of a color.

I’m suited for this job because I have much experience in this occupation because I’ve been on a
runway before I model agencies branding and clothings.
Earnings

The standard beginning wage for a model is 32000 to 48000 based on levels of tenure.

The maximum salary you can expect for modeling is around 48000.

The factor that affects the salary range is what state your modeling in because California has
the highest pay rate for a model and Florida has the lowest.

The expenses that are involved in setting up to be a model is that you are required to pay for
your own promotions such as composite cards, website profile, agency books, couriers, legal and
accounting fees. Which would cost roughly 3500$ to 4000$.
Benefits and Health Factors

The health benefits of being a model is proper posture, good communication skills and poise.

The health and safety issues of modeling is the weather, use of bad equipment, and unsanitary
make up, wrong size clothing and shoes.

The benefits of modeling are great and in my opinion are second to none, for example you get
free merchandise, can possibly travel around the world, and you get publicity and exposure.
Employment

The prospect for employment in this occupation is low since there isn't much educational
credentials required to be a model which means there will be a lot of people competing for the
same job opportunity.

The factors that influence the availability of jobs is area your located in, to have a higher chance
as an aspiring model is took look for jobs in smaller cities.

The growth potential for modeling is 15 percent since 2012.


Typical Day

A typical day for a model is waking up to going to a gym workout, the workouts are necessary
because you have to stay a certain size for a runway or fitting, after the workout you would eat
breakfast like normal take care of any chores or things you have to do before you get on with
your day.

The best part of the day are shoot days and the traveling you meet different people and are
exposed to other things.

The most challenging part for a model is dieting you to eat right and stay a certain size that are
necessary for whatever clothes you're wearing.
Aptitude

Personality traits and skills I have that makes me suited for this job is my confidence and my
shade of skin color which is very popular in the modeling community.

The real life experiences I've had is that I shot a commercial with Reebok I have been in Cam
Kirk's Studio and I have also been in a photoshoot for dtourshop.

Reflection

I did not do the career survey I already knew what I wanted to do.

The career I ultimately chose was becoming a professional model.

What I learn that I did not know is that it takes a lot of time and dedication to be a model.

Yes I think this is a good career for me.

I think I learn what I needed for this career.
