Type Locality
 Gorge, NE of Mitta Khattak village (320 48’ N; 710 09’ E)

Lithology
 Interbedded conglomerate, sandstone and siltstone
 Conglomerate; at the base having well sorted pebble and cobbles (yellowish brown, limestone of
sakessar limestone, quartzite, granite )
 Sandstone; above conglomerate is sanstone; yellowish brown, fine grained
 Siltstone; overlies the sandstone, which is thick sequence reddish brown abundant at top

Thickness/Distribution
 Formation is restricted to Surghar Range, SW extremity about 100m thick and pinches out
laterally towards eastern margin

Fossils
 No specific fossils have been reported

Age
Miocene

Contact
 Lower: unconformable with Sakessar Limestone
 Upper: unconformable with Siwalik Group
