The
Influences of
Technology
Let’s get started!
Is New Technology
Pushing out Translators?
Are applications like Google Translate negatively affecting
translators?

As translating apps become more and more popular and available to

the public, it may seem as though the need for translators might
soon go away. However, these technologies are nowhere near close
to being able to detect nuances and context in language as best a
translator could and may never get that close. These new
technologies can actually even aide translators into producing better
work at a high speed.

IMPROVING OVERALL PRODUCTIVITY

The new translation technologies that are being

created can be used by translators to expedite
the process of many jobs. This is a very positive
thing because it allows translation companies
to allot more free time for more serious jobs
that require more attention.

The Importance of Accuracy
The quality of translations if the business
world are incredibly important which is
something that will always need to be
proofread and checked. In fields like customer
service where properly conveying what needs
to be said to a customer is critical, translators
need to be able to turn out the best quality
translations that they can.

Improved Connection
Current translation applications allow for a smoother process in translating
because of their usage of many different tools at their disposal. An
example of this would be Computer Assisted Translation or also known as
CAT. Tools like these better support the translation process and improve
the quality of the translation by confirming there is consistency and other
important information.

MY PHILOSOPHY
MY PHILOSOPHY
There are many benefits to technology in the workforce
and translation is no exception. Through the aid of new
technology, translators will be able to churn out work
faster and at a higher caliber than what could be done
on their own. I don’t believe a demand will ever
disappear for translators in the business world
because there are many common instances where
these applications alone cannot translate pieces to the
fullest because of cultural nuances or context. The
furthering of these kinds of applications will greatly aid
the business of translation in the future.
