Background
Topic : Airport Transport Corridor system
Convenient and smooth airport transport corridor
play a key role for people to choose air travel. The
purpose is analyzing interaction mechanism of
passenger volume, airport transport corridor capacity
and construction fund pool, established a system
dynamics model, and develop some meaningful
conclusion by the simulation of changes in congestion
threshold, improvement coefficient of capacity in
order to get desire airport transport corridor.

Congestion threshold variation
From the graph we can see that low
congestion threshold will increase
passenger volume at the airport. It can be
seen when congestion threshold is at 0.6
passenger volume will increase
significantly at 25th year, it keeps growing
exponential until 50th year. Meanwhile,
when it’s at 0.7 – 0.9 passenger volume
didn’t increase that much. It is because of
passenger will feel more convenient when
congestion threshold was low so, they can
move freely and have more space for
themselves.

Congestion threshold variation
A similar result was found at airport transport
corridor capacity’s graph, it increasing when the
congestion threshold at 0.6.
This is possible because the addition of airport
transport corridor capacity is to decrease
congestion threshold in corridor, to keep it fixed
at 0.6 so that the graph will increases gradually.

Congestion threshold variation
This graph show how much construction fund
pool is needed to accommodate corridor
expansion in order to maintain the congestion
threshold at 0.6. From graphics we can see that
funding is done in stages and keep increasing
periodically if we want to maintain the
congestion threshold at 0.6 to avoid
overcrowding at the corridor.

Congestion threshold variation
When congestion threshold is at 0.6, there was
a sharp increase in aviation profit. This is
because of increasing the volume of passengers
that enter into profit. This is also in-line with
increase funding construction to expand
corridor capacity. So, the costs that issued to
increase corridor capacity will be increasing
profit as well.

Congestion threshold variation
In-line with additional funds, the needed
investment also has a similar pattern.
Congestion threshold with smaller number will
need more investment with frequent intervals.
At level 0.6 for 50 years, an investment of nearly
1.5 billion is needed, as much as 4x where the
above level is less needed investment with less
time intervals.

Congestion threshold variation
Additional funding required to increase corridor
capacity can be seen on the graph, low number
of congestion threshold mean high number of
additional funds are needed with more frequent
intervals. As with the 0.6 congestion level at the
beginning of funding, it requires the most funds.
If we’re looking at the next pattern, there are
additional funds that are more frequent than
other level, although with the number of
additional funds decreasing in 50 years.

Summary & Point of View To Extend
Summary
In order to keep the congestion threshold Extending Airport Corridor
at the low level, the Airport requires Capacity
additional corridor capacity where this
addition will also increase the Profit of the
Airport. It is caused by the addition of
passengers which can be accommodated Airport Convenience
in bigger corridor capacity. Increasing
capacity requires a strategy in funding
needed. Therefore, we need to consider
how much funds are needed in the
construction fund pool such as needed
investment and additional funds. To Speed Up Rate at the Airport
maintain a congestion threshold at the Corridor
low level, the larger investment is needed
frequently. Also, more additional funds
will be needed in order to fulfill the
requirements of increasing corridor
capacity at the relevant time.
Propose
Improvement
We’re proposing to install the airport moving walkway at the corridor.
It will makes passenger moving faster and will helps to decrease
congestion threshold at the corridor.
So, it can accommodate more passenger every year.
With Lower additional Cost compare to extending the corridor way.
Other benefit installing airport moving walkaway at the corridor is
reducing the investment cost of extending the corridor way and
delaying the investment, which will give benefit to the airport
management in future investment plan
