Comments:
The problem was clearly introduced by the
researcher. It begins with stating the background of
the problem. Then, the arising of problem and lastly,
researchers was able to present data, recent
statistical claims that such problem exists.
Summary: The researcher was only citing the literature to support their study but the
review of related literature was only found in the bibliography.
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE
Comments:
Researcher should put the review of
related literature in the body of the
study.
Summary:
There are three hypothesis that researchers were formulated are the
following: H1: The higher the level of aggression, the higher the likelihood
that one will be addicted to online games; H2: The more self-control the
subjects have, the less likely they will addicted to online games, especially
those games with violent contents; H3: The more narcissistic personality traits
the subjects have, the more likely that they will be addicted to online games;
RQ1: To what extent are aggression, self-control, narcissistic personality traits,
and the quality of interpersonal relationships related to online game
addiction?
Hypothesis
Comments:
I like the way how the researcher stated the
hypothesis because it was stated clearly and
straight to the point.
Summary:
This study aimed to determine the relationship of
psychological characteristics such as aggression, self-control,
and narcissistic personality trait to at risk population who are
dependence upon online game addiction.
Objectives
Comment:
The main objective of this
research was clearly defined the
overall purpose of the study.
Summary:
A total sample of 1471 respondents participated in this study, there are
82.7% were male and 17.3% were female with an average age of 21.30 +/-
4.46. Using an online response method the respondents were asked to
complete several self-measures. The survey is compose of five different
questionnaire included demographic information, game use-related
characteristics of the samples, the online game addiction scale (modified
from Young’s Internet addiction scale) with a five likert scale, the BussePerry
aggression questionnaire with a five likert scale, a self-control scale with five
likert scale, and the narcissistic personality disorder scale with four likert
scale.
Methodology
Comment:
The methodology was clearly stated on how they will
evaluate and get the information. They also presented enough sample
that become more reliable and acceptable but the way how the collect
their data might inherent biases because this survey used online
response method rather than face to face interview. Since the researcher
have no idea what kind of person who are answering in their study.
There is a tendency that the respondents who are answering could not
the right respondents for their survey and it might an oriented person
who will answer and manipulate the answering of every questions.
Also, most of their questionnaire is 5 liker point scale in collecting the
data that give to the respondent a neutral answer and the data collected
was not accurate.
Summary:
The study shows that aggression and narcissistic personality traits are
positively correlated with online game addiction while self-control is negatively
correlated with online game addiction with a p-value less than 0.001. Also, a
multiple regression analysis shows that the extent of online game addiction
could be predicted using the person’s narcissistic personality traits, aggression,
self-control, interpersonal relationship, and occupation. However, only 20% of
the variance in behavioral consequences was explained with the model.
Findings
Comment:
The findings was describe properly and clearly. All
hypotheses was also describe by the researcher. However, they
only describe 20% in the variance in behavioral consequences.
This indicate that there result was not 100% percent validated
and reliable because of many limitation was considered.
Summary:
The study can conclude that certain psychological characteristics such
as aggression, self-control, and narcissistic personality traits may lead some
individuals to become addicted to online games. This result will help to us in
deepen our understanding of the ‘‘at-risk’’ population for online game addiction
and it will give to us basic idea and concept that can contribute to formulate a
prevention program for people who are addicted to online games.
Conclusions
Comment:
The conclusion was not explain well because the result of the
study was not found here instead he presented a conclusion that
is suggested by other study. The researcher must explain more
in detailed the conclusion of their study because this area is the
general statement that would clearly explain the outcomes of
their study.
Summary:

Recommendations
Comment:
This study provide good recommendation to deepen the
knowledge of the future researcher and policy maker about this
issues. But there recommendations was part in the conclusion, it
give to reader a confuse whether that area was a conclusions or
a recommendations
