O piloto brasileiro Ayrton Senna foi um piloto profissional e


esportista famoso na época de sua morte em um acidente de
corrida em 1994. Depois de uma excelente carreira no circuito
de corridas de kart, Senna foi tricampeão da elite na série de
Fórmula 1 . Em sua breve carreira, mas espetacular, Senna
provou que ele era indiscutivelmente "o mais notável piloto de
todos os tempos", de acordo com Alan Henry no Grand Prix
Champions. Ayrton Senna da Silva , nascido em 21 de março de
1960, em São Paulo, Brasil, era uma criança desajeitada que
mais tarde foi diagnosticada com um problema de coordenação
motora. O pai de Senna, Milton da
Silva, era empresário de sucesso e proprietário de terras, mas
também era um fã de automobilismo e encorajava o fascínio de
seu filho por carros. Quando Senna tinha quatro anos, seu pai
deu a ele um kart. Quando Senna bateu seu carro, ficou
inconsciente – ele estava paralisado. Toda a família apoiava o
interesse de Senna no automobilismo e passavam os fins de
semana juntos em parques locais, onde o jovem rapaz podia
dirigir seu kart. Os pais de Senna devotaram a ele privilégios
em ser motorista como forma de estímulo para fazer com que
Senna, um estudante sem brilho, prestasse melhor atenção a
seus estudos. Felizmente para Senna, sua família era rica e
podia financiar suas corridas.
Aos oito anos de idade, Senna estava dirigindo o carro da
família. As estrelas do automobilismo europeu Jim Clark e
Jackie Stewart eram seus heróis, assim como Emerson
Fittipaldi, um piloto brasileiro que estava emergindo
rapidamente como um talento extraordinário. Senna recebeu
um kart de 100cc de presente no seu décimo aniversário, mas
teve que treinar sozinho na pista de kart até completar 13
anos, idade mínima para competir karts no Brasil. O interesse
pelo automobilismo europeu cresceu no Brasil quando
Fittipaldi venceu o Campeonato Mundial de Fórmula 1 em
1972, e o país sediou seu primeiro Grand Prix em Interlagos
no ano seguinte.

• Athena

inherited the wisdom of her mother, Metis, an attribute that
made her favour Odysseus, the wisest and most cunning of
the Greek heroes. In all these roles she was especially
valiued because she was always accessible,unlike many
gods who kept their distance from humans.
