WHAT IS THE ACID
RAIN ?

Acid rain is a natural

phenomenon due to air pollution
that has been too bad. This
phenomenon causes the
decrease of acid from the
atmosphere to the earth.
It is important to know
that acid rain does not always
rain down in water. This natural
phenomenon can also occur in
the form of fog, hail, snow, even
gas and dust containing acid.
AVERAGE
CHARACTERISTICS
Occurs due to an increase in the
levels of nitric and sulfuric
acid in the air.

Has a pH below normal,

which is below 5.7

Acid rain makes the skin

itchy and red

Can increase a person

attacked by lung or heart
disorders
BENEFITS
Acid rain besides causing
many negative impacts on
the environment, it also has
benefits on this earth. The
benefit of acid rain for all
living things is solve for
various minerals that are
very important for animals
and plants to live
EFFECT
1. Disturbed Marine
Ecosystems
2. Blocked Root 5. Cause
Growth Corrosive
Iron

3. Causes Erosion 6. Soil

and Reduces Soil fertility
Fertility decreases

7. Destroying
land animals

8. Interfering with
4. Disrupting ecosystems in
Health lakes, seas and
rivers
1. Selection of
HOW TO AVOID ACID RAIN fuel

3. Reforestation
4. Add lime
5. Conducting Environmental Pollution Control
6. Control After Burning
7. You are encouraged to use energy efficiently and avoid
using fossil fuels.
8. Use motorized vehicles as needed to reduce air
pollution.
9. Recycle paper so that not many trees in the forest are cut
down.
10. Using materials or goods that are environmentally
friendly.
CONCLUSION
1. Acid rain is caused by sulfur which is an impurity in fossil fuels and
nitrogen in the air which reacts with oxygen to form sulfur dioxide and
nitrogen oxide.

2. Acid rain has an impact not only on the biotic environment, but also
on the abiotic environment, including lakes, land, plants and animals,
human health, corrosion, buildings, and agriculture.

3. The effort to control acid deposition is to use fuels that contain little
pollutants, avoid the formation of pollutants as they occur, capture
pollutants from exhaust gases and save energy.
