3.91.1.11(a) Multi Conductor Cable
allowable ampacity use Table 3.10.1.16
( commonly called royal cord, RC, use TW

Load Calculation Parameters for Lighting Panelboard :

Use Table 2.20.2.3 – General Lighting Loads by Occupancy

For Dwelling Units use 0.024kVA per sq.m ,for Industrial, commercial building use
0.016kVA per sq.m.

Use actual manufacturer’s data for very large area.

Use 0.18kVA for duplex outlet, PEC 2017,2.20.2.5(i), 0.090kVA per four or more
receptacle in one yoke or 0.011kVA persq.m,PEC1,20092.20.2.5(k).

For Branch Circuit, use 20A maximum over-current circuit protection for lighting and
receptacle.

For Feeder Current, consider load as continuous load:

I3Ø=√3(Highest I1ØLOAD) + I3ØLOAD

Ifeeder=125% x I3Ø PEC 2017 2.10.2.1(a1)

The tables were derived for PEC 2017,Table 3.10.1.16 and Table 3.10.1.17 with
applied derating factor.

For grounding conductor use Table 2.50.6.13 from PEC 2017

For over-current protection use Inverse Time Molded Case Circuit Breaker.

MCCB=I3Ø x 125%
Load calculation parameters for Air-Conditioning and
Motor Loads :

Use the nameplate rating supplied by manufacturer as

reference for air-conditioning rated current.
For motor loads, PEC 2017, Table4.30.14.4. was used .for
the IFLC of the motor.
For over-current protection for individual hermitic
refrigerant motor-compressor , PEC 2017 4.40.2.2(a)1

I Overload = I3Ø FLA x 115%

For short circuit and ground fault protection

IMCCB = I3Ø FLA x (175%-225%)

For Feeder Current, consider load as continuous load

Ifeeder = 125% x I3Ø PEC 20172 .10.2.1(a1)

For grounding conductor useT able 2.50.6.13 from PEC

Voltage Drop Calculation
a) Voltage Drop Calculation 3ø

VD3ø = √3 x I x L/305 x S ( Rcos ø + X sin cos-1 ø )

Where :
R is in Ω/305 m PEC 2017, Table 9.1.1.9
X is in Ω/305 m PEC 2017, Table 9.1.1.9
Cos ø = 0.80
S is the number of parallel cable
b.)VoltageDropCalculation1ø
VD1ø = 2 x I x L/305 x S ( Rcos ø + X sin cos-1 ø )
Where :
R is in Ω/305 m PEC 2009, Table 9.1.1.9
X is in Ω/305 m PEC 2009, Table 9.1.1.9
Cos ø = 0.80
S is the number of parallel cable

PEC 2017 2.10.2.1 (a1) FTN NO. 4, Conductor for branch circuit
must be sizes to preventvoltage drop exceeding 3% to the
farthest load and the voltage drop for the feeder and branch
circuit does not exceed 5%
Voltage Drop Calculation

c.)Voltage Drop Calculation

R Ω/305= 0.0350 Ω/305 ;

X Ω/305m= 0.0400 Ω/305

Length (m)= 62 m;

I = 841.99 A

S = 3 per phase

VD = √3 x I101 x L/305 x S ( R cos ø + X sin cos-1 ø )

= √3 x 841.99 x 62/305 x 3 ( 0.0350 (0.8) +

0.0400 sin cos-1 0.8 )

= 5.14 V

%VD = VD / 220 x 100 = 2.33% <3%
