We can measure the length, area,
volume, mass, time and temperature. There are lots of other things we can measure, but these are the most common HISTORY OF MEASUREMENT People in Egypt used body parts to determine measurements of things.
Some of the units are the span, palm,
digit, foot, cubit, and pace. SPAN It is the distance from the tip of the little finger to the tip of the thumb of an outstretched hand. PALM It is the distance across the base of the four fingers that form the palm. DIGIT It is the thickness or width of the index finger. FOOT It is the length of the foot CUBIT It is the distance from the tip of the middle finger of an outstretched hand to the front of the elbow. PACE It is the distance one full step.
