ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
First, we want to say thank you to Madam Komate for giving all of your leisure time to teach us.You also been patient with our attitude and never give
up to teach us.
We also want to say thank you to our friends for supporting us whenever we need our friends.Without all of you, we cannot finished our teacher’s
destiny.
INTRODUCTION
Today,we are going to make a Mathematic project. We’re going to find 8 Mathematician which is in our Form1 Topic,Mathematic Text
book.WE’re going to retrieve information about the MATHEMATICIAN,such as their history, invention and many more.
Hope you guys enjoy and SUB TO EPIC ASIA…….

LET IT BEGIN!!!
ERATOSTHENES
Our first Mathamatican is ERATOSTHENES. He borned in 276 BCE and passed away in 195 BCE. He was an
ancient Greek Alexandrian Scholar, native of Cyrene, who attained distinction in many fields including
philsophy, mathematic, astronomy and history.
Eratothenes was also known as Beta, his erudition in many disciplines was remarkable but he often rank
second in all of the them.
Eratosthenes has created so many invention such as Circumference of the earth, which he did by
comparing angle of the mid day sun at 2 place a known north south distance apart. Second, he
calculated the tilt of the earth’s axis. Additionnally, he may have accurately calculate the distance from
the earth to the sun. The last one, he created the first map of the world, incorporating parallels and
meridians based on the available geography knowledge of his era.
CHRISTOFF RUDOLFF
Our second Mathematician is Christoff Rudolff. He borned in 1499 and passed away in 1545. He wroted
coss(1525), the first book of algebra to appear in Germany. This was significant in that Germany was the
vernacular in much of northen and central Europe, and few among the rising bourgeois class could read
Latin.
Rudolff was borned probably in 1499, in the village of Jauer in Silesia, which is now Jawor, Poland. In fact,
the area had been culturally Polish for centuries prior to his birth, But it had been dominated by Bohemian
for sometime and would fall into Austrian hands in 1526.
He had created lot of invention like Radical symbols for the square root. It is believed that this was
because it resemble a lower case “r” (for radix), though there is no direct evidenced cajori only says that’s
a dot is the embryo of our present symbol for the square root.
MUHAMMAD IBN MUSA
Muhammad ibn Musa was a Persian mathematician, astronomer, astrologer geographer and a scholar in
the house of wisdom in Baghdad. He was borned in Persia of that time around 780. The house of wisdom
was a scientific research and teaching center.
His invention are the concept of the algoritym in mathematic. He also created concerned with method for
solving practical computational problem rather than Algebra as the term is now understood.
DIOPHANTUS OF
ALEXANDRIA
Diophantus of Alexandria was borned probably sometime in between AD 201 and 215; passed away
around 84 years old, probably sometime between AD 285 and 299 was and Alexandrian Hellennistic
mathematican, who was the author of a book call Arithmetica. His text deal with solving algebraic
equations.
his invention are the definition of polygonal number from the work of hypsicles. Moreover, he also created
solution of many problems concerning linear and quadratic equation, but considers only positive rational
solution to these problems.
THOMAS HARRIOT
Thomas Harriot was borned in 1560 to 1621 was a polymath-a mathematician, astronomer, physicist,
navigator and linguist. Harriot was the first person in the history to draw a heavenly body after observing it
with a telescope, drawing a map of the moon in July 1609.
He was probably the first person in history to record sun spots with a telescope allowing him to deduce the
sun’s rate of rotation.
his invention are creation of transformed algebra, replacing word equation with a clearer, more concise
presentation style based on mathematical symbols.
EUCLID OF ALEXANDRIA
Euclid borned in 300 BCE. Sometimes called Euclid of Alexandrian to distinguish him from Euclid of Megara
was a Greece mathematition also referred as the founder of geometry or the farther of geometry. He was
active in Alexandrian during the reign of Ptolemy I (323-283 BC).
His elements is one of the most influential works in the history of mathematics serving as the main text book
for teaching mathematic in the late 19th or early 20th century.
his invention are the theorems of what is now call Euclidean geometry from a small set of axioms, also
wrote works on perspective conic sections, spherical geometry, number theory and mathematical rigour.
CARL FRIEDRICH GAUSS
Carl Friedrich Gauss, original name Johan Friedrish Carl Gauss, borned in April 30, 1777, Brunswick,
Germany. He is a Germen mathematician generally regarded as one of the greatest mathematician of all
time for his contribution to number theory, geometry, probability theory, geodesy, planetary astronomy, the
theory of function and potential theory including electromagnetism.
Gauss was the only mathematician who is a child of poor parents. He was rare among mathematician in
that he was a calculating prodigy and he retained the ability to do elaborate calculations in his head most
of his life.

Gauss discovery that regular polygan of 17 sides can be constructed by ruler and compass alone. Beside,
Gauss invented the first systematic text book on algebraic number theory, disquisitions Arithmeticae.
GEORG CANTOR
Georg Cantor borned in march 3, 1845, St. Petersburg, Russia-passed away in January 1918, Halle,
Germany, German mathematician who founded set theory and introduced the mathematically meaning
full concept of transfinite numbers, indefinitely large but distinct from one another.
His invention are method of proved of this theorem implies the existence of an “infinity of infinities”. He also
invented basic knowledge that algebraic numbers are countable, transcendental numbers are
uncountable, results now included in a standard mathematics curriculum.
CONCLUSION
Mathematic is very significance in our life.Without those mathematician,we’re doom and our life is meaningless. We need to
thanks those mathematicians because they created those mathematic so during calculation, our life could get easier.

The moral of the story is Pay attention when Miss Komate is teaching,or else you are wasting teacher’s time, teacher’s love and
what those mathematician created. EPIC ASIAN STYLE
