• 132 KV double circuit underground cables from
UPPTCL’s 400/220/132 KV Sarojini Nagar
Sub-Station.
• Consist of Traction Sub Station (TSS) and
Auxiliary Main Sub-Station (AMS).
• The output of TSS is 25 KV single phase AC
feed the OHE for train running.
• The output of AMS is 33 KV three phase AC
feed to the Auxiliary Sub-Station (ASS).
• Each station has an ASS, in which this 33 KV
three phase AC is further stepped down to 415
V three phase AC for the local supply to the
station utilities.
• Duplicate 33 KV cables run along the corridor
for carrying 33KV three phase AC power
supply to the various ASS.
ROLLING STOCK OVERVIEW

• GENERAL DESCRIPTION
• Lucknow metro train is a 4 car configuration (DMC - TC - TC - DMC).
• A Driver Motor Car (DMC) is provided at both ends of the train and in the
middle with two Trailer Cars (TC).
• DM cars are motorized by means of 2 motor bogies, while T car is equipped
with 2 trailer bogies, which are non motorized.
• Two HVAC (18T capacity each) units are mounted on the saloon roof of each
DMC and TC cars. Pantograph is mounted on the roof of each TC car and all
other major equipment are underframe mounted.
SUB SYSTEM OF ROLLING STOCK

• Brakes and Pneumatics

• Door system

• HVAC

• Propulsion System

• TCMS

• PACIS
Brakes and Pneumatics
• Holding brake - Holding brakes are applied when train is at stand still (for
example in station)

• Service brake - If electric brake force is not enough to the required force, the
additional force is applied by Electro-Pneumatic friction brake.

• Parking brake - is used to keep safe & stationary from rolling on inclination
when train is not in use.

• Emergency brake - Once the emergency brake is applied, it can not be

reversed until train comes to stop.
Door system
• It has two major safety related functions
1. It should not open when the train is in
motion
2. At station it should not cause any injury
when there is any obstruction .
EDCU – emergency door control
unit
EAD – emergency access device
EED – external egress device
HVAC
• AIR CONDITIONING
• Purpose: maintain the
atmosphere of an enclosed
space at a required
temperature, humidity and
purity
• Heaters in ventilation system.
Propulsion System
Catenary Line
Pantograph
• The output of the C/I box is connected to the 25000 V AC

traction motors
Traction
• The traction motors are mounted onto the Supply EGS VCB AC
25000 V AC Arrester
bogie frame and provide the necessary torque
to move the train. Main

PACIS :

•PACIS : Used for address through Automatic or

Manual, Public Information & Interaction with
Operator and On Board Video Surveillance.
Safety features used in different sub-system of
Rolling Stock
Door system Safety:
The train can run only if all the doors are closed and locked.
To ensure the function two door safety loops are implemented come on each side of the train.
These train lines passed by all the Door lock switches (DLS) of each door of the side.
Push Back Device: This feature allows, after the door is closed and locked.
The reopening of each door leaf by 15mm(max).
The push back is a spring loaded device that is incorporated in the link between the driving nut
(fork) and driving arms so that a locked door panel can still be pushed back.

Braking system safety: -

Back up brake provides an adjustable brake control in case of failure in TCMS.
In case of slope or gradient up to 40 degrees, a maximum of 1.5-meter rollback is permissible
after which EB will be automatically applied.
Safety Features Contd…..

FSD Safety: -
FSD- Fire Safety detection.
6 smoke sensor in each car and 1 each in cubical.
Fire extinguisher also used in each car.

Propulsion System: -
EGS is used on roof of train.
