INTRODUCTION

 3G. 3G, short for third generation,

is the third generation of wireless
mobile telecommunications
technology. It is the upgrade for 2G
and 2.5G GPRS networks, for faster
internet speed. ... The first 3G
networks were introduced in 2003
and fourth generation 4G networks
in 2009.

2G TECHNOLOGY
 2G technology refers to the 2nd
generation which is based on GSM.
 2G network use digital signals.
 It’s data speed was upto 64kbps.

WHAT IS 3G ?
 A Generation of wireless
technology that transmits wireless
data up to 2 megabits per second
and makes integration of
 VOICE
 DATA
 VIDEO
 Speed:- 144Kbps-2mbps

ADVANTAGES OF 3G
TECHNOLOGY
 Faster data transfer rates
 Cheap call rates worldwide
 Anywhere access to internet
 Support for multimedia data
applications such as video and
photography
 Power Consumption is high

DISADVANTAGES OF
3G TECHNOLOGY

 Power Consumption is High

 Needs Different Handsets
 High Bandwidth Requirement
 High Spectrum licensing fees
 Huge capital

ADVANTAGES OF 4G
TECHNOLOGY

 Higher Bandwidth
 Lower cost than previous
generations
 Faster and more reliable
 Video Calls
 News
 Music

DISADVANTAGES OF
4G TECHNOLLOGY

 High power usage

 Need Complicated hardware
 Hard to implement
 Battery usage is more
 The equipment required for the
next generation network is still
very expensive.

THE FUTURE !
 After 4G, obviously 5G will come.
 It is the next generation wireless
systems. It will be a lot more faster
and consume less power than 4G.
 Most probably, it will be introduced
around 2020.
 Many companies (like Nokia,
Samsung, etc) are making 5G
devices, so that when 5G network
13
will be rolled out, it will be used by
general people.

CONCLUSION

 The speed of 3G & 4G networks

depends on cell tower & bandwidth
of the towers.
 3G provided more security
mechanisms.
 4G,is an important trend it, exists a
lots of issues as seamless
connection,high mobility,secure
service
15
 4G is successor of 3G
