FUNCTION OF MODERN CLUTCHES

• Improve vehicle performance

• Reduce CO2 emissions
• Save money the consumption made out of fuel.
• To get better driving comfort
TYPES OF MODERN CLUTCHES

• ELECTROMAGNETIC CLUTCH.
• SER ELECTROMAGNETIC CLUTCH.
• DOUBLE CLUTCH.

ELECTROMAGNETIC CLUTCH

Performance
• It consists of a crown steel mounted on the steering wheel
of inertia of the motor.
• A coil is housed inside this crown, that when passing the electric
current produces a magnetic field in the area of the air gap
formed between the crown and the steel disk.
• Said disc is mounted on the primary axis of the gearbox by means
of a spline, replacing the conventional clutch disc.

• The existing space inside the crown is closed with steel plates,
and filled with magnetic dust, which agglomerates in the air gap
by the action of the magnetic field created by the coil, making
the crown integral with the disk.
• In this way, when current passes through the winding of the coil,
the agglomeration of the magnetic dust takes place, obtaining the
clutch of the system.

CAUSES OF DAMAGES

• In the event of an electrical failure in the vehicle, because the

battery is in poor condition, voltage peaks can be generated that
can affect the proper functioning of the electromagnetic clutch.
• If noises are heard in the clutch, it is necessary to check the
system bearings and bearings.
• If vibrations are perceived in the clutch, it can be wear of the
bearings of the gearbox, or of the engine supports.
SER electromagnetic clutch

• It is basically formed by the inductor core with its corresponding

coil and self-centered rotor bearing that is mounted on the shaft
with key and the friction material incorporated.
• Therefore, it is self-supporting and does not need any mechanized
mounting surface.
• Plus the induced assembly, consisting of the induced disk itself
with a spring-membrane and the induced support.
characteristics

• Small dimensions
• High torque transmission capacity.

DOUBLE CLUTCH

• It serves for a manual gearbox function as if it were an automatic

box.
• It works as an anticipated exchange rate.
• The gear change is decided by the electronic control unit of the
vehicle.
• It has two clutch discs.
• One is placed on each side of the flyer of inertia

Characteristic

• The speed change is extremely smooth.

• There is no loss of energy.
• The performance is increased.
• Much more fuel savings.
• Less time when changing gears.
• The wheels have no loss of power.
Conclusion

• The process currently being followed in the new clutches industry

has been detailed, we can say that it improves the behavior of
load change. The behavior of change of load can be improved
considerably by means of a special control of the clutch, with
which the pulls are avoided
