Mission Statement:

The Moore Haven Elementary Induction Program will


support and retain new teachers by providing
ongoing, structured professional development based
on individual needs, strategic collaboration
opportunities with veteran teachers that develop
professional relationships that increase motivation,
confidence, self-worth, and feelings of inclusion.
Session Purpose:

The purpose of today’s session is to establish a


foundational understanding on which to build
upon in the areas of differentiated, learner-
centered teaching and the role of student
assessment in making data-based instructional
decisions.
Learning Objectives:

Teachers will be able to:

• Define Differentiated Instruction


• Identify learning styles to match learners’ needs.
• Identify and understand how the three areas of a learning experience
can be differentiated to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Identify methods for differentiation of content, process, and product.
• Experience learning based on learner-centered principles and
differentiation implemented using a variety of instructional tools.
Time Schedule
Session A 8:00 – 9:30 am

Session B 10:00-11:00 am

Learning Objectives:

Goals for Improvement Plan

Goal 1: Students reading below grade level will increase their fluency and
decoding skills as determined by the beginning of year Corrective
Reading (CR) placement assessment.

By May 2020:

• Students in Decoding A reading 45 wpm or less will increase to 70 wpm with 95%
accuracy.
• Students in Decoding B1 reading 60 wpm with an accuracy rate of 92% will increase
to reading 90 wpm with an accuracy rate of 96%.
• Students in Decoding B2 reading 90 wpm with an accuracy rate of 96% will increase
to 120 wpm with an accuracy rate of 97% or greater.
