Set of Real Numbers

FIRST QUARTER REVIEW

What are the types of numbers?

Real numbers = Rational Numbers + Irrational Numbers Irrational numbers are radicals and
non-terminating, NON-REPEATING
Irrational Numbers = { 2, − 3, π, 2.71828…, –4.1979…, …} decimals.

Rational Numbers = Integers + Non-Integers = {1, –2, 0, 3/4, 5. 3

ത , −2.23ത }
Non-integers are fractions, terminating decimals,
ത , −7. 45,…}
Non-Integers = {1/2, 3/4, –2/3, 1.5, 1. 1 and non-terminating, REPEATING decimals.

Integers = Whole Numbers + Negative Integers = {…, –3, –2, –1, 0, 1, 2, 3, …}

Negative Integers = {–1, –2, –3, …} Counting numbers na may minus sign (–).

Whole Numbers = Zero + Counting Numbers = {0, 1, 2, 3, …}

Also called positive integers or natural
Counting Numbers = {1, 2, 3, …} numbers.

Zero = {0}

SECOND QUARTER REVIEW
What are the symbols of equality and inequality?

Symbol Meaning Example

= “equals”, “is equal to”, or “is” 2=2
≠ “is not equal to” 1 ≠ –3
> “is greater than” 5>0
< “is less than” 19 < 25
≈ “about”, “around” or “almost equal to” 1.9 ≈ 2
“is greater than or equal to”, “is at least”, A≥B

“ has a minimum of”
“is less than or equal to”, “is at most”, or X≤Y

“has a maximum of”

number kapag mas lumalayo yung number kapag mas
papuntang left direction. lumalayo papuntang right
direction.

Try this:
