﹡ The Spaniards led by maestro de campo Martin de
Goiti, together with Lt. Antonio Carvajal, selected
Spanish soldiers and Augustinian friars, set foot to
conquer Lubao on September 14, 1571 (Feast Day of the
Triumph of the Cross).
