Why we should donate blood?
You can donate blood if you…
• - Are in good health
• - Are between 16 to 65 years old
(16 and 17 years old need parents
consent);
• - Weigh at least 110 pounds;

Who can donate blood?


• Have not had any symptoms of
infection for at least 1 week e.g.
sore throat, cough, runny nose,
diarrhea; and
• Have not had a fever
(Temperature >37.5°C) in the last
3 weeks
Who can donate blood?
•Previous or current history of
cancer;
•High blood pressure and taking
medication (except diuretics);
•Diabetes and taking
medication;
Who CANNOT donate blood?
• Abnormal bleeding tendencies or
blood disorder;
• AIDS or symptoms of AIDS, such as
unexplained fevers, severe night
sweats, unexpected weight loss,
swollen glands or chronic diarrhea;
• Epilepsy or uncontrolled seizures after
infancy;
Who CANNOT donate blood?
•Hepatitis B or C;
•Syphilis;
•Malaria; or
•Underwent major surgery
within 12 months.

BLOOD FOR 12 MONTHS IF YOU HAD:

•Tattoo,
•Ear Piercing
•Acupuncture
