The Quran
● The Quran is the holy text for Muslims
● Over 1,400 years old
● The Quran is divided into chapters which is put into
verses
● 12 different ways to read the Quran

How it all began with the Prophet Muhammad
Muhammad is known for being the founder of Islam and God’s messenger who
brought to the people of Islam the holy teachings and words from God that were
later put together to make up what is now known as the Quran.

● He was born in the year of 570 AD in Mecca, Saudi Arabia


● Muhammad was meditating in the cave of Hira when he was visited by a
presence which instructed him to recite the words that later connected to the
words of God.
● After informing the public about the presence and passing on the messages,
he became known as God’s messenger and the founder of Islam
● He died in the year of 632 AD at the age of 62

-Praying five times a day (Salat)

-(al-fajr, al-zuhr, al-'asr, al-maghrib, al-'isha)
