 A dictatorship consists of rule by one person or a
group of people
 A dictatorship is a body of government where total
control and dominance lies with a small group of
people or one person.
 A good example of a dictatorship is : North Korea
(Kim Jong Un )
 A leader takes control over the government and
has total power
 In a dictatorship, usually, there are very strict rules
and punishment for even a small crime or violation
of the law. Hence leading to low crime rates.

 The dictators have access and control over


everything right from the economy to the laws and
the people. They set their goals in which they have
to progress and develop. Hence there is rapid
progression.
 We get a stable government.

 There’s less space for corruption amongst


citizens.
 It leads to abuse of power. The dictator
misuses his power at the expense of the
citizens.

 Dictators always oppress and suppress the


people. Or even promote their own favorites
and interests.
 Mass killings. Large numbers of innocent
people are killed on the mere whims of their
dictator.

 The population is never happy with such a


government. So it’s possible that at some
point the masses will protest and agitate
against such type of government.
 The word democracy is derived from the Greek
word:
Demos- People
Kratos- Power or rule
 Democracy is a form of government in which the
rulers are elected by the people.

must rest with those who are elected by the
