PROJECT OVERVIEW

As we know that petroleum prices are being hiked

day by day, so we are using wind energy as our source
of incoming energy to run the vehicle.

Wind power has become a popular form

of renewable energy.
We know that wind is available any time so we use
the forced wind so that the vehicle get Recharged.

INTRODUCTION

 The terms “wind energy” or “wind power” describer's

the process by which the wind is used to generate
mechanical energy or electricity.
 Wind turbines convert the kinetic energy of the wind into
mechanical energy. This mechanical energy can be used
for generating electricity by means of a alternator.
 Which is used in turn to charge the “battery” and power
the vehicle using a controller.
Objectives
In this we are supposed to construct a vehicle, which
can be able to drive straight into the wind. The car has to
be propelled just by wind energy, which means that we
can not use others energy sources to move the car.
Wind energy is available in the form of kinetic energy
which can be transformed to energy by mechanical
conversion. As it is intended to use wind power to
produce electrical power.
Hence the conversion is mainly from mechanical to
electrical
Principle

The working principle of Wind energy vehicle basically

involves two process
The first process involves the wind generator is used to
charging the battery
The second process involves when the Vehicle is
running by means of an electric motor which drowns
power from already storage battery

Wind Turbine

Wind turbines operate on a simple principle. The energy in the wind turns
two or three propeller-like blades around a rotor. The rotor is connected to the
main shaft, which spins a generator to create electricity.
Dynamo

A dynamo is an electrical generator that produces direct

current with the use of a
12 V 24 amp dynamo
Controller

The speed controller of an

electric bike is an electronic
circuit that not only controls the
speed of an electric motor but
also serves as a dynamic brake.
This controller unit uses
power from the battery
pack and drives it to the hub
motor
CHASSIS

A chassis is the internal

framework of an artificial
object. which supports the
object in its construction
and use.
Dimensions of chassis is
Length -5 feet
Width -3.5 feet
BATTERIES

 Lead Acid
Batteries

Advantages
 Generate energy from wind turbines and drive an electric
car.
 The wind is free and with modern technology it can be ca
ptured efficiently.
 Once the wind turbine is built the energy it
produces does not cause green house gases or other pollut
ants.
 Wind turbines have a role to play in both the developed
and third world.
Disadvantages
 The strength of the wind is not constant and it
arise from zero to storm force.
 This means that wind turbines do not produce the same
amount of electricity all the time.
 There will be times when they produce no electricity at
all.
 Wind turbines are noisy.
 Each one can generate the same level of noise as a fam
ily car travelling at 70 mph.
Conclusion
“WIND POWER VEHICLE” is very much useful, since it
is provided with good quality of power sources and simple
operating mechanism. Hence “each and every drop of fuel
saves our economy and meet the needs” is the saturation
point that is to be attained as soon as possible
FUTURE SCOPE

Urbanization has caused many affects on public life.

Presently, the daily activities are mainly dependent on
vehicles.
So the density of vehicles in city areas is increasing day
by day. Mainly, many of these vehicles are all dependent
on nonrenewable energy resources like petrol and diesel.
In the future hybrid vehicles are highly useful
