• Jose Rizal began writing his third novel, a sequel to the El Filibusterismo, in
1892 in Hong kong
• Rizal began the book in Tagalog and gave the first chapter the title “
Makamisa” which in English “ After mass”
• Only two chapter have been written in 10 pages
• Size of 34 cm by 22 cm
• Has no direct signature or date of inscription
• Found by Ambeth Ocampo in 1987

• He was led to the conclusion that "Makamisa" is Rizal's Third Novel, and
not, as previously thought the unfinished work Maligaya y Maria Sinagtala,
more known as "Tagalog Noblity"

• The Spanish portion of the Makamisa was mistaken by a certain librarian as
“Borrador Del Noli me Tangere”
• Dr. Angel Hidalgo (Granddaughter of Saturnina) insisted that the draft
found by Ocampo is the Spanish Version.
• Ambeth Ocampo concluded that it was Makamisa because it has both
Tagalog and Spanish parts.
