PART 2 – NOTES EXPANSION
This kind of composition requires you to elaborate on the give notes to form a composition. The events in the essay
should follow flow smoothly and logically one after another.

 REPORT
Make sure you have a good idea of
what your report should be about
Study the notes given carefully.
Elaborate on the notes based on your
knowledge of the subject.
The language used in report writing is
formal.
Your report must be clear and
accurate. Do not include unnecessary
descriptions.
RECOUNT
Narrate the events in order they
occurred. Describe vividly what you saw
and felt about the event.
Write a draft of your recount. Include all
the notes given in the question.
Edit your recount. Make suitable
changes to make it more interesting.
Make sure you use past tense.
Proofread it to check for mistakes in
grammar, punctuation and spelling.
