CASE ANALYSIS

GROUP 4
DEFINING THE PROBLEM
• What is the cause of the foul
smell in Pantal River?
• What is the cause of diarrhea
to children ages 2-12?
• What is the cause of their
improper segregation of
waste?
FORMULATING THE HYPOTHESIS

• Improper segregation of
waste cause the foul smell
in Pantal River.
• Foul smell from the Pantal
River cause the diarrhea.
• Lack of sanitary toilet cause
the improper segregation of
waste.
CONDUCTING THE RESEARCH
• Water Sampling Method
• Observation (Pantal River)
• Interview (Residence near
the Pantal River)
GATHERING DATA
• Water in Pantal River
according to Water Analysis
found out that it contains
Campylobacter, Salmonella,
Shigella and Escherichia coli.
GATHERING DATA
• The Researchers have
observed that they are
many waste in Pantal River
like stool, plastics,
styrofoam etc.
GATHERING DATA
• In the interview with the
residence, the Researcher
found that the caused of
plenty of waste in Pantal
River is due to their lack of
sanitary toilet and lack of
proper waste disposal.
ANALYSIS AND
INTERPRETATION OF DATA
• The water in Pantal River is
contaminated with
microorganism that is the
caused of diarrhea of
children ages 2 to 12, these
microorganisms are
Campylobacter, Salmonella,
Shigella and Escherichia coli.
ANALYSIS AND
INTERPRETATION OF DATA
• The microorganism found in
the water of Pantal River
came from their waste. It
came from the stool,
plastics, styrofoam and
other waste that are not
disposed properly.
ANALYSIS AND
INTERPRETATION OF DATA
• Plenty of waste in Pantal
River is due to the lack of
sanitary toilet and lack of
proper waste disposal of the
residence near the river.
CONCLUSION
• In these study the
Researchers therefore
conclude that the cause of
foul smell of Pantal River is
the improper waste disposal
by the residence of Pantal
and also because of their
lacking of sanitary toilet.
CONCLUSION
• The Researchers also found
out that foul smell from the
river is the major caused of
diarrhea. The water in
Pantal River is contaminated
with some microorganism
and chemicals that makes it
harmful, especially to
children.
RECOMMENDATION
• Further studies to improve
sanitation in Pantal.
• Further studies about the
effect of microorganisms in
rivers.
• Further studies about ways
to avoid diarrhea.
