Introduction
• Construction industry is highly localized in nature.
• It’s second highest job providing sector after
agriculture in our industry.
• Huge capital & infrastructure is involved in
construction businesses.
• By understanding different markets & their way of
functioning, more efficiency & profitability can be
achieved in any project.
Aim
• To determine best suited environment & required
key factors for new & developing businesses in
construction industry.

Objective
• Enlisting the affecting parameters in construction
industry.
• Weighing them according to importance in
practical applications & overall process.
• Preparing a feasible process for comparing
different construction environments.
Methodology
•Collecting data
•Identifying key factors for comparison
•Compiling
•Analysing & weighing the key factors
Methodology
•Discussing it with guides & experts
•Reviewing & modifying as per
suggestions
•Finding results & conclusion
•Documenting & submission
Factors affecting the entrepreneurs
in construction sectors
• Cost & availability of land
• Cost & availability of Materials
• Availability of skilled workforce
• Availability of infrastructure
• Geological & Weather conditions
• Rules, Regulations & Laws
Cost & availability of land
• Availability of land is prime most requirement for
any construction project.
• In most of the cases, it’s the most expensive part of
the entire project.
• Acquiring the land which is already in use often
turns out to be most difficult process in most cases
• Suitable relationship between the demand &
availability of land is necessary for thriving real
estate business.
Cost & availability of Materials
• Various materials are required in construction
project & they contribute the significantly in
construction projects
• Locally available materials are prioritized for higher
cost efficiency & lower carbon footprint
• Because of design requirements, atmospheric &
geological difference, special materials are required.
• Logistics needs to be arranged in case of
unavailability of these materials locally
Availability of skilled workforce

• Construction process is highly dependent of human labour as

automation is very limited in construction processes.
• Due to difference in nature, complex & skilful nature of
construction process, it’s crucial to have a skilled work force.
• Though it contributes a small fraction of entire project cost it
has great influence on overall construction process.
• Specialized training courses & in-house training can be
proven highly effective in tackling the scares of required
human resource.
Availability of infrastructure
• For efficient construction, supporting infrastructure
is necessary
• Speedy logistical movement of materials & workforce
can affect the overall efficiency of construction
process.
• Availability of specialized tools can ease up the
cumbersome & labour intense jobs significantly
• Apart from efficiency, safety & feasibility of project is
also dependent on supporting infrastructure.
Geological & Weather conditions
• Geological & weather conditions determine the
design details & nature of construction project.
• Adverse geological & weather conditions not only
increase the cost of construction but has adverse
impact on efficiency of overall project & elongates the
proposed timeline
• As not much can be done to change these conditions,
thorough investigations should be done prior to
actual construction & suitable measures should be
taken.
Rules, Regulations & Laws
• Construction sector is highly regulated by governing
authorities because of it’s vast impact on every aspect of life.
• Getting approvals & sanctions for different construction
processes & projects can turn out to be decisive in viability of
project.
• For new businesses & entrepreneurs, an efficient &
transparent regulatory authority turns out to be very
beneficial & helpful.
• In a healthy developing economy, there should be proper
balance of laws & ease of business environment ensuring
win-win situation for everyone
