SOP for PT Failure
PT Failure Check Point
Sr. No. Topics Description of Point
1. Check CRP Panel End Voltage & Loose connection
2. Check PT Junction Box end voltage & Loose connection
1 Visual checking
3. Check If any PT link Terminal blocks are blown
4. Check visual inspection of PT if minor damage or major damage
1. If the minor damage observed then inform to respective vendor and get the confirmation to
charge(Ex. sealing)
2. If the major damage observed then take the snaps and removed the faulty equipment
2 OEM & HO confirmation
3. Check the PT circuit for this PT core used only for metering or protection
4. If only metering purpose used this PT then you will charge without PT and check the
voltage reference from other PT
1. Spare availability check at site
2. And this spare equipment ratio & specification should match with existing equipment
3 Spare Availability at site
3. Spare equipment base plate dimension should check with existing equipment(hole
matching)
4. Properly erected and charged
6
SOP for Bus PT change over system
4. BPT change over system steps mentioned in next slide(Slide No. 8 to Slide No.15)
7
100 MW RAUPL 220 kV Switchyard is designed with Double Bus Scheme
In case of failure of BUS-1 PT we can switch into BUS-2 by following steps
8
BPT-02 Change Over Steps in case BPT-01 Failure
b) Open the 89 A isolators of 201 Bays

SOP for Line PT Protection Bypass system
2. site person should get the confimation from HO if any any protection bypass
Spare Not 3. PT selector switch provided in CRP panel(Bus PT voltage going to Line PT Relay through this switch)
1
Available at site referred in Slide No.43
5. This protection bypass( synch & UV) required upto bus charging only then normalised the protection and
Trafo. charged successfully

Line Breaker Closing
2. Now close the Line Breaker & taken into service &
charged upto Bus PT with respect to connected Bus
42
PT Selector Switch change over method
3. Then switch the PT Selector switch in Line CRP Panel (+AA)from Line PT selector to
Bus PT so that Line PT secondary circuit will isolate from CRP & BUS PT voltage input
will get from BUS PT to Line CRP
4. After completing changing this selector switch bus voltage goes to Line protection Relay.
So this Protection bypass required upto bus charging only. Then normalised all protection
