Rule 2. There are combinations of adjectives placed
before nouns where the order is not fixed. These
combinations may be placed in any order and a
comma separates the adjectives.
Examples:
a thoughtful, reticent man
a reliable, conscientious fellow
Rule 3. Sometimes the order of the
adjectives determines the meaning.
Examples:
great many books
many great books
Rule 4. When adjectives denoting position and
number are used, the position adjective comes
before the adjective denoting number.
Examples:
last ten minutes of the game
first five minutes of the period
