DEGREE OR SEVERITY OF OFFENSE

1. FELONIES
-serious crimes punishable by
death, a fine or imprisonment.
2. MISDEMEANOR
–minor offenses punishable by
fine or a year of imprisonment
ACCORDING TO NATURE OF ACTS
PROHIBITED

1. Mala In Se- evil in itself


(murder, rape, robbery)
2. Mala prohibita- wrong
because it is prohibited
(illegal logging, gambling
AS TO THE MANNER CRIMES
ARE COMMITTED

1. By means of dolo or
deceit- intentional
felony
2. By means of culpa or
fault- culpable felony
AS TO THE STAGES IN THE
COMMISSION OF CRIME
1. Attempted crimes – does not
perform all acts of execution
2. Frustrated crimes- has performed all
the acts of execution but do not
produce the felony

elements necessary for execution
and accomplishment of the crime
are present.

situation is conducive to their
commission
