Research Design
and
Methodology
Research Design

The researchers use correlational study because the

researchers may differentiate the relationship of extracurricular
activities to academic performance of grade 12 students.
Correlational study is performed when there are two subjects that
share the same idea and thoughts that can be correlated to each
other.
Sample and Sampling Technique

The researchers have chosen purposive sampling in choosing the

respondents. Only those grade 12 students who actively participate in
extracurricular activities during their grade 11 will be qualified in able to
determine if there co-curricular activities has an impact to their academic
performance which their final GPA during their grade 11.
The researchers made an attempt to collect data from 50 selected
grade 12 students coming from different strands of senior high school
whose actively participating in extracurricular.
Instrumentation
– The researchers used the survey questionnaire that is composed of the
profile of the students and twenty items including the Correlational study
between participation in extracurricular activities to academic
performance of grade 12 students.
– after that the researchers create a validation letter to our PR 2 adviser and
the principal in order for the researchers to conduct their research study.
– The researchers began to distribute their survey questionnaire that
composed of 20 questions in every strands according to their schedule and
make the respondents answer for the collection of data.
Data Gathering Procedure
The researchers will get a permission letter from the office
of the principal, after the approval of the principal the
researchers have asked the schedule to the homeroom teacher
for them to be able to conduct their survey. After that, the
researchers were able to have the time for their respondents to
answer the given researcher made test. the researchers used
converted analysis of conversation to analyse and interpret the
data from the questionnaire.
