Inserting Pictures
these are electronic or digital
pictures or photographs saved in
any local storage device.
TYPES OF PICTURE FILES
 Joint Photographic Experts Group (.JPEG)
Advantage – Good quality to integrate in document. Relatively small in size.
Disadvantage – Difficult to integrate in terms of blending with other
materials.
 Graphics Interchange Format (.GIF)
Advantage – It is good for blending with other materials in your documents.
Disadvantage – It is not useful on a printed document.
 Portable Network Graphics (.PNG)
Advantage – Best quality to integrate in document. Relatively small in size.
Disadvantage – It does not support animation.

you can integrate in your document to
enhance it's appearance or to allow you to
have some tools to use for composing and
representing ideas or messages.

INSERTING CLIP ART
- This is generally a .GIF type. Clip arts
are line art drawings or images used as
generic representation for ideas and
objects that can be integrated in Word
documents.

- These are predefined sets of different
shapes grouped together to form ideas
that are organizational in nature.

• Create an organization chart.

• Show hierarchy, such as a decision/family tree.

• Illustrate steps or stages in a process or workflow.

• Show the flow of a process, procedure, or other event.

• Create an illustration quickly by typing or pasting your text


and having it automatically positioned and arranged for
you.

- is a graphical representation of
data in which data is represented
by symbols such bars in a bar chart
lines in line chart and also slices in a
pie chart.

- In presenting data such as sales, salary and
comparing data that happened for a long time
or short time.

COLUMN CHART
- are very useful for the comparison of at least
one set of data points.
BAR CHART
- bar charts are better for showing and comparing very large
sets of data or numbers.
PIE CHART
are good for
illustrating and
showing sample break
down in an individual
dimension. It is in the
shape of a pie to show
the relationship
between the main and
sub-categories of your
data.
LINE CHART
- type of chart that is normally used for explaining trends over periods.

1. IN LINE WITH TEXT– It
is used when you need to place
your image at the beginning of
paragraph.
2. SQUARE – This setting
allows the image to be
placed anywhere within the
paragraph in a square
pattern.
3. TOP AND BOTTOM –
This setting pushes the texts
away vertically to the top
and/or bottom of the image so
that the image occupies a
whole text line on its own.
4. BEHIND TEXT – This
allows your image to be
dragged and placed
anywhere on your document
but with all the texts floating
in front of it. It effectively
makes your image look like
a background
5. IN FRONT OF TEXT -
This setting allows your
image to be placed
right on top of the text
