GO-LOGISTICS Supply Candidates


Case 1; Basic Logistic Knowledge
Let say there's a on demand logistic company in India that want to
expand its business to Indonesia. The concept of this logistic company
is stay assets less; means that they doing the business by using the
concept of partnership with all of the parties (moving and non moving
assets). Based on on the demand logistic trend in Indonesia, what do
you propose for this logistic company in order to fullfill its demand in
Indonesia.
Problem
• Please explain on how you predicting the supply demand condition that this
company will face in Indonesia.
• Explain your research strategy before you tap into Indonesian market
• Based on the research, explain what kind of market that you try to aim? (B2B, C2C,
B2C, retail)
• what asset that you think that this company will need to acquire, describe this as
detail as possible, if needed. (kind, dimension, location, operating time, workforce
management)
• explain your strategy to maintain your assets
• If warehouse needed, please draw the blueprint for your warehouse; inbound;
outbound, etc.
• With above considerations, what is your vision for the company. Please collaborate
this with using the research result that you already conduct in the early stages.
Case 2; Go-Jek Product Knowledge; GO-KILAT
SameDay
• GO-KILAT SameDay is a delivery service to serve customers from our e-commerce
partners.
• The unique selling point of this service compared to other 3PL providers is that
the package could be received by the customer in the same day. Customers do
not need to wait for days for their package(s) to arrive at their location.
• Our main product is algorithm that can batch order, and create the most efficient
route based on pickup location, drop location, etc.
• We have our own dedicated fleet. We do not use drivers from regular fleet
because the service has different delivery scheme.
• At one time, drivers could get 1 trip (route) which has 1-8 bookings (shipments)
Problem; Supply Issue
Demands for SameDay delivery is fluctuative. It could be higher in some period. Using data dummy
shared in another attachment, please make a supply-plan recommendation for 6 months ahead
(July-December 2019). Please determine:
• All peak period in half year, and why?
• Supply needed to cater demands in all period (should achieve booking completion rate minimum
of 90%)
• How to boost our supply in peak period, assuming we can not do any driver recruitment and we
have registered drivers in total = 30,000 drivers
Please give your best recommendations!
Hint:
1. you can play with the incentive scheme or bonus.
Note (assumption)  For July – August: driver fare of 2500/km
driver bonus Rp40,000 for 10 completed bookings
For September – December: driver fare of 2000/km
driver bonus: Rp45,000 for 10 completed bookings
2. You can also leave the driver incentive alone. You can play with research; driver app research ops flow, etc.
