Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity. The SDGs replace the last program that call Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) because the SDGs are more globally collaborative, rooted in human rights standards, inclusive, and more. SDGs was officially approved on 25th of September 2015 in Germany. This program will last for 15 years and hope all of the goals will be realized in 2030. Quality Education
"Ensure inclusive and equitable
quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all." There are 17 goals in SDGs and the fourth goal is Quality Education. In this goal there are some targets to achieve. • Complete the primary and secondary education. • Have a good quality in pre-primary school. • The secondary school is affordable and also good quality. • Have a skill to improve the quality of entrepreneurship. • There is no gender disparity. • Have a primary knowledge like reading ,writing, and counting. • Get a skill to improve sustainable development. Case 1 We’re in Lebak to see what conditions are like in schools here — schools that rely for their funding on a district made infamous by an election-rigging scandal that brought down Akil Mochtar, the former chief justice of the Constitution Court, in the province where detained governor, political matriarch and corruption suspect Ratu Atut Chosiyah leads an administration that allegedly skimmed off a third of the social aid and grant budget in a single year, boldly taking money intended for the poorest residents of an area where poverty is on the rise. (jakartaglobe.id) Case 2 As an area that is close to the capital city of Jakarta, Banten Province is so close to being left behind. Corruption, dynastic politics, poverty, unemployment, school, and damaged infrastructure are the identity of this area. Of the many problems, education is in the public spotlight. In 2016, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that the average length of school in Banten had only reached 8.37 years. The average length of school also varies in each region. South Tangerang in the north has an average school length of 11.58 years. Whereas in the southern part of Lebak only 6.19 years, Pandeglang 6.62 years, and Serang District 6.98 years. In addition, findings from the Banten Regional Study and Information Center (Pattiro) found that in Serang District, three out of ten students bet their lives because schools were damaged. As a result, the use of classrooms alternates and makes learning not conducive. Referring to BPS, in August 2017, out of a total of 5.6 million workforce in Banten, as much as 9.28% or 520 thousand people were unemployed. This figure turned out to increase from 499 thousand unemployed in the period of August 2016. Even from the data, the number of open unemployment was actually contributed by the Serang Regency reaching 13% or 82 thousand people. Followed by Cilegon as many as 11.88% or 22 thousand people. These two regions, although filled with various industries, out of a total of 14 thousand more industries were established in Banten.
