transmitted through a solid, liquid, or gas, composed of frequencies within the range
of hearing and of a level sufficiently strong to be heard, or the sensation stimulated
in organs of hearing by such vibrations.

The definition of simple harmonic motion is simply that the acceleration
causing the motion of the particle or object is proportional and in
opposition to its displacement x from its equilibrium position.

RADIOGRAPHIC REPLACE's use transmission of high-frequency sound waves into a
material to detect imperfections or to locate changes in material properties. The most
commonly used RADIOGRAPHIC REPLACE testing technique is pulse echo, wherein
sound is introduced into a test object and reflections (echoes) are returned to a
receiver from internal imperfections or from the part's geometrical surfaces.
