*Christology

Class1
*Pre existence
*Eternity and deity of Jesus Christ are
held in a vast area of Scripture

*Eternity and deity of Jesus Christ are held in a vast

area of Scripture, which affirms its infinite Person and
his eternal existence same with the other Persons of the
Trinity. This fact is not affected by his incarnation.
*John 1: 1-2: "In the beginning was the Word, and the
Word was with God, and the Word was God. This was in
the beginning with God "According to Micah 5: 2:" But
thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, little to be among the
thousands of Judah, out of you will come for me to be
ruler in Israel. And their going forth from the beginning,
from the days of eternity.
*Isaiah 7:14 says his virgin birth and gives him the
name Emmanuel, which means "God with us."
According to Isaiah 9: 6-7, although Jesus was a
child born, He was also given as a Son and is
specifically called "the mighty God." When Christ
said in John 8:58: "Truly, truly , I say to you ,
before Abraham was, I am." The Jews understood
that this was an affirmation of the deity and
eternity (cf. Ex 3:14; Isa. 43:13).
* 2. Implications of its Pre-existence
*The Word of God consistently and consistently implies the pre-
existence and eternity of the Lord Jesus Christ. Among the
obvious evidence of this fact can be highlighted several:
*1. The works of creation are ascribed to Christ (John 1: 3; Col.
1:16; I 1:10..). Therefore, He precedes all creation.
*2. The Angel of the Lord, whose appearance is often
remembered in the Old Testament, is none other than the
Lord Jesus Christ. Although He appears sometimes as an angel
or even as a man, He bears the marks of the deity.
*He appeared to Hagar (Gen. 16: 7), to Abraham (Genesis 18: 1,
22: 11-12, see Jn 8:58), to Jacob (Gen 48: 15-16; see also Gen.
31: 11-13, 32: 24-32), Moses (Exodus 3: 2, 14), Joshua (Joshua 5:
13-14) and Manoah (Judg 13: 19-22). He is the one who fights for
his own and defends them (2 Kings 19:35, 1 Chronicles 21: 15-16,
Ps 34: 7, Zech 14: 1-4).
*3. The titles awarded to the Lord Jesus Christ
indicate the eternity of his being. He is exactly
what their names suggest. He is "the Alpha and
Omega", "the Christ", "Admirable", "Counselor",
"Strong God", "Eternal Father", "God", "God with us",
"great God and Savior" and "God blessed forever."
These titles identify the Lord Jesus Christ with the
Old Testament revelation about Jehovah-God
*The names that the New Testament gives the
Son of God are closely related to the titles of the
Father and the Spirit, indicating that Christ is on
an equal footing with the First and Third Person
*4. The Pre-existence of the Son of God is understood
in the fact that He has the attributes of Deity: Life (Jn
. 1: 4), Existence itself (John 5:26.) Immutability
* (Heb. 13: 8), Truth (John 14: 6), Love (1 John 3:16),
Holiness (Heb 7:26), Eternity (Col 1:17, Heb 1:11),
Omnipresence Mt. 28:20), Omniscience (1 Cor. 4: 5, Col.
2: 3) and Omnipotence (Matthew 28:18, Rev. 1: 8).
* B) Pre-existence in the Old Testament
*Exodus 17: 5-7 Declares that during Israel's pilgrimage
through the desert God commanded Moses to strike a "rock"
On Mount Oreb to quench the thirst of all the people.
* The passage itself demonstrates God's faithfulness to Israel by
supernaturally supplying them with all that is necessary to
subsist in the wilderness. When the apostle Paul writes to the
Corinthians, he explains the significance of this wonderful event.
In the first place Paul says in reference to the Jews that "all
drank the same spiritual drink, because they drank from the"
spiritual rock "that followed them, and that rock was Christ" (1
Corinthians 10: 4). Is a powerful evidence of the "pre-existence
of Christ" before his virgin birth in Bethlehem. At the same time,
the passage is an explicit reference to the active involvement
that the eternal Son of God had in providing the needs of the
people of Bethlehem. Israel.
*OTHER MESSIANIC PASSAGES ALSO TESTIFY OF THE
PRE-EXISTENCE OF CHRIST BEFORE
* his birth in Bethlehem. For example; David
writes in Psalm 2: 7, "I will issue
the decree, the Lord has said to me, 'You are my
Son.' In its immediate context the passage refers to King
David himself as the anointed of God, yet his highest
fulfillment is in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, who
according to the flesh was a direct descendant of David
*). On the other hand, although the passage pointed to
the future, David testifies of the present existence of
Christ at the time of writing the Psalm, and of the
deserved honor he should receive from men even before
he came into the world,
*Micah 5: 2 "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though
thou be little among the thousands of Judah, out of
you will come for me to be ruler in Israel, whose
origins are from of old , from the days of eternity"
Micah clearly points to the preexistence of the One
who was to be born in Bethlehem. These "outlets" of
Christ reach to eternity in the past. “
*C) The Pre-existence of Christ in the New
Testament
Texts of its pre-existence
*John 1: 1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God.”
*In the beginning. This expression refers to the time before
the universe was created by God, which clearly indicates
the preexistence of the Word (cf. Gn 1: 1).
*the verb. This term in Greek (logos) is very rich in meaning
(ie, word, message, proclamation, statement, mandate,
subject, etc.). NT at the time of the logos had very special
connotations for both Jews and Gentiles. For the Jew
(through the Septuagint and other writings in Greek) meant
the powerful and creative presence of God (Ps 33: 6; cf.
Gen 1: 3, 6, 9, 14, 20, 24; ).
*The Word was God. The Logos is the same with the
Father in essence and deity. With this explicit
statement, John says that Jesus is God, an emphasis
throughout the fourth gospel.
*John 3: 13 "No one has ascended into heaven, but he
that came down from heaven, even the Son of Man,
[which is in heaven].”
*John 3: 31-34: "He who comes from above is above
all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh: he
that cometh from heaven is above all what he has seen
and heard. And he that beareth his testimony, he
witnesseth that God is truthful: for he whom God sent,
the words of God speaketh: for God giveth not the
Spirit by measure.
*The testimony of Paul On the Pre-existence
of Christ
*Philippians 2: 5-11 "Hague therefore be in you which
was also in Christ Jesus, who being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be
grasped, but emptied himself And being in the likeness of
man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient unto
death, even death on a cross: wherefore God also exalted
him to the uttermost, and Gave him a name which is
above every name, that in the name of Jesus every knee
should bow to them that are in heaven, and on the earth,
and under the earth, and that every tongue should
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, For the glory of God the
Father "
*Colossians 1: 15-17 . "He is the image of the invisible God,
the firstborn of every creature : For by him were all things
created, that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and
invisible, whether thrones , Domains, and principalities, and
powers, all things were created through him and for him: and he is
before all things, and all things in him stand
*WHO DOES MEN SAY WHAT IS THE SON OF MAN?
*Confession of Peter: Matthew 16: 13-20
*On one occasion his disciples Jesus confronted with the
question; "Who do men say that the son of man is?" By then,
Jesus' fame had spread throughout all Judea, Samaria, and
Jerusalem, and even in the lands of the Gentiles. Jesus had
already fed thousands of people, had cast out demons, had already
walked on the sea, had already lifted the paralyzed, healed the
blind, and even raised the dead. However, people still had a
limited and misguided concept about him.
*Why did Jesus asks his disciples this?
* Would perhaps he did not know what people thought
and believed about him? Of course, he knew it perfectly!
The apostle John writes in chapter 2: 24-25, that " there was no
need anyone to tell him what was in man, because he knew
what was in man." So why did Jesus ask that to his disciples, did
Jesus need the opinion of the people? It is clear that NO, the
need was of his disciples, they needed to differentiate between
the opinion of the people, and the revelation that the Father
himself gives about the Son. As we shall see later a second
question Jesus asks his disciples, and the question is; "And you,
who you say I am?" From the moment Jesus asks both
questions, two completely different answers are anticipated;
*"What unbelievers say about Him, and what His
followers must believe about Him.
* THE OPINION OF THE PEOPLE THE ANSWER TO THE FIRST
QUESTION WAS
*: "Some say you are Elijah, others say you are Jeremiah, some
more say John the Baptist, or one of the prophets." This
answer is not surprising, since even his own brethren in the
flesh did not believe that Jesus was the Messiah (they believed
in Him after His resurrection). "His countrymen of Galilee saw
Him only as" the son of Joseph The carpenter and nothing else.
"His enemies saw Jesus as" a glutton and wine-drinker, a friend
of the publicans and sinners. "For many of them, Jesus was" an
impostor pretending to be a prophet, and a blasphemer Who
claimed to be God, by calling himself the Son of God. "(John 10:
29-39) The opinion of unbelieving people about Jesus has
always been erroneous, they never recognize Jesus as anything
more than a human being, nor give him credit And the
recognition that the writers of the Bible explicitly attribute to
him
IN TODAY'S OPINION DISBELIEVING PEOPLE ABOUT JESUS HAS NOT CHANGED MUCH

*AND YOU, WHO DO YOU SAY IM

*The correct answer to the question about the
identity of Jesus is found in the confession of Peter,
who without hesitation pronounces the words that
reveal the true identity of Jesus
*The statement of Peter contains two
fundamental truths of the person of Jesus
* 1. His saving work 2. His divine identity: "You are
the Christ, the Son of the living God" (Matthew
16:16). By saying "Thou art the Christ," Peter testifies
of the saving and redemptive ministry of Jesus as the
promised Messiah. Saying: "You are the Son of the living
God," Peter testifies of the divine origin of Christ, from
where he comes, their identity in a nutshell, Peter's
statement contains both the redemptive mission of
Christ as his divine identity giving This statement is
a clear eternal pre-existence of Jesus, since if He is
divine as a son, it is eternal and if it is eternal, it is
logically pre-existent to his birth as a man.
*Many religious groups preach Jesus as the Messiah, and as
the Son of God, and seemingly not in contradiction with
Peter's statement. However, do not include the
"implications" and "broader meaning" that Peter's words
have. Like the Jews, the religious sects in their desire to
"defend the Father," deny that the Father himself has
revealed and testified about his Son, arguing and accusing
evangelical Christians put Christ above the Father, when
We are limited to defending the testimony that the Father
gives of his Son. Do not believe the testimony of the
Father, which is the "greatest evidence" that may exist, is "
to make God a liar" (1 John 5: 6-12).
*Jesus said Peter's response by saying, "Blessed are
you, Simon son of Jonah, for not revealed to you
by man, but by my Father and heaven."
*this means that the Father himself is interested
that the true church knows who has truly believed
in.
*I say this, for Jesus affirmed that Peter's statement
would be the rock upon which he would build his
church. Therefore, the true church of Jesus Christ is
built upon the truth about the person and the work
of Jesus, as the Christ and as the Son of God,
understanding of course the implications and broad
meaning of so brief but so beautiful declaration.
*This statement of
who Jesus was and is
Jesus rebelled by the
Father to Peter is a
resounding
affirmation of the
eternal Pre-
existence of Jesus.
* Class 2
2nd) ... THE HUMANITY OF CHRIST

*A) ..the BIRTH AND HUMAN LIMITATIONS.

*When we speak of the humanity of Christ it is

appropriate to start talking about the virgin
birth of Christ. The scriptures clearly state
that Jesus was conceived in the womb of his
mother Mary through the miraculous action of
the Holy Spirit and without a human father
*(Matthew 1:18). Shortly after that an angel of the Lord
told Joseph that he was betrothed to Mary: Joseph, son
of David, do not be afraid to receive Mary as his wife,
because she conceived him by the power of the Holy
Spirit,
* (Matthew 1:20)

*Then we read that Joseph did what the angel of the

Lord had commanded and received Mary for Wife, had
no marital relations with her until she gave birth to a
son, whom she Name Jesus (Matthew 1: 24-25) The
same fact s are written in the Gospel of Luke Where we
read about the appearance of the angel Gabriel to Mary.
*After the angel announced that it would
bear a son, Mary said, How can this be ,
since I am a virgin? To which the angel
replied: The Holy Spirit will come upon
you, and the power of the Most High will
overshadow you, so that the child to be
born will be called the holy son of God
(Luke 1:35)
*HUMAN LIMITATIONS

1) ... Jesus had a human body:

*The fact that Jesus had a human body like us can be seen
in many passages from the scriptures, was born in the same
way and are born what all humans (Luca s: 2: 7). (except
that there was no intervention of man in his birth)
*He grew as a child until he reached adulthood as all
children do, the child grew up and Was strengthened; with
wisdom, and the spirit of God was upon him (Luke 2: 40)
Besides Luke tells us that Jesus grew in wisdom and stature,
and more time enjoying the favor of God and all people
(Luke 2:52)
*Jesus was tired like all of us, because we read
that… fatigued the way Jesus sat at the well (John
4: 6 .
* In Samaria He felt thirsty, because when he was
on the cross he said, I have thirst (John 9:28)
* after he fasted for forty days in the desert, he
hungered (Matthew 4: 2)
*sometimes physically felt weak at that time , one
Angels came to serve (Matthew 4:11)
* and apparently took care of him and provided
him with sustenance until he regain his energy to
get out of the desert.
*When Jesus was on his way to Golgotha to be crucified, the
soldiers forced Simon of Cyrene to carry the cross (Luke
23:26)
*most likely because Jesus Felt so weakened after the beating
he had taken , he no longer had the strength to carry it. The
culmination of the limitations of Jesus in his physical body
,we see it when he died on the cross (LC23: 46)
*his human body and life had ceased its functions, as in our
bodies when we die.
*. Jesus had a human mind:

*The fact that Jesus increased in wisdom (Luke 2:52) it
tells us that went through a learning process as all
children.
* He learned to eat, speak, read and write, and how to be
obedient to their parents (hebrews 5: 8) This common
learning process was all part of the authentic humanity of
Christ.
*Jesus experienced a full range of emotions.
*Astonish of the centurion's faith (Matthew 8:10)
* weeping over the death of Lazarus (john 11: 3 5)
* had a heart full of emotions Hebrews 5:7 New
International Version (NIV)
*The complete and total absence of sin in the life of
Jesus is clear and noticeable in the scriptures
because of the severe temptations he face, not only
in the desert, but throughout his life.
*The author of Hebrews says that Jesus was tempted
in every way just as we are , yet without sin
(Hebrews 4: 5) the fact that he faced temptations
means that he had a natural human body and
* could be tempted,
scriptures clearly they say
*That not be tempted by evil
(James: 1: 3) .

*WHY WAS NECESSARY THE COMPLETE HUMANITY OF
JESUS?

*When John wrote his first letter, a heretical

teaching circulated among churches that said Jesus
was not a man, this heresy became a Custom
*Name as Doceticism. This denial was So serious as
it was far from the truth about Christ,
*John could say it was a doctrine of Antichrist and
it could be discern whoever had the Spirit of God;
*(1 John 4: 2-3

*the apostle John understood that denying
the true humanity of Jesus was denying
something that was essential to Christianity,
so that anyone who refused that Jesus came
in the flesh did not come from God, looking
along the new testament
*we see several reasons why Jesus had to
be fully human if it was to be the Messiah
and earn our salvation.
*Six reasons for the need for his
  humanity
*1st) ... REPRESENTATIVE OBEDIENCE.
*Jesus was our representative and obeyed by
us where Adam had failed and disobeyed. We
see it in the parallelism between the
temptation of Jesus (Luke 4: 1-13) and the
test time of Adam and Eve in the Garden of
Eden ( Genesis : 2: 15 and 3: 7)
* Jesus had to be our representative and
obedience in our place
*2ND) ... TO BE A VICARIOUS SACRIFICE.
*If Jesus had not been a man, he could not have died in
our place and pay the punishment justly due to us, the
author of Hebrews tells us that certainly did not come in
aid of the angels but the descendants of Abraham, so it
was necessary that in all things made like his brothers,
to be a merciful and faithful high priest in service to
God, to atone for the sins of the people (Heb 2: 16-17)
Jesus had to be a man not an angel,
*in order to atone for our sins, unless Christ was fully
human, could not have died to pay the penalty for the
sins of man, there were could be a sacrifice to replace
us.
*3RD) ... TO BE THE ONLY MEDIATOR BETWEEN GOD AND
MEN.

*Because they were alienated from God by sin, we needed

someone to come and stand between God and us and take
us back to the, needed a mediator who could represent us
before God and could represent God to us, there is only a
person who has met once with this, because there is one
mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1
Tim 2: 5) in order to fulfill this role of mediator, Jesus had
to be fully man at the same time fully God
*4TH) ... TO FULFILL THE ORIGINAL PURPOSE OF
GOD THAT MAN GOVERN THE CREATION
*God put humanity on earth to subdue and rule as
his representative. But the man did not meet this
purpose, but instead fell into sin, the author d e
Hebrews tells us that God's intention was to put all
things under subjection of man, then when Jesus
came as a man, was able to obey God and thereby
acquired the right to subjugate creation as a man,
and thus fulfill the original purpose of God put man
on earth, Jesus had to be man, to fulfill the original
purpose of God, that man rule over his creation.
*5TH) ... TO BE THE MODEL OF OUR REDEEMED
BODIES.

*Paul says that when Jesus rose from the dead, the
body that Jesus had when he revive , is the model that
shows how will our bodies will be when they rise from
the dead because Christ is the first fruits (1 Corinthians
15: 23). it is a metaphor of agriculture that resembles
Christ to the first signs of harvest, indicating that other
fruits of the harvest will be similar, Jesus had to rise as
a man to be the firstborn from the dead
* (Colossians : 1 : 18),
*6) ... TO SYMPATHIZE AS THE HIGH PRIEST.
*The author of Hebrews reminds us that have suffered the
same temptation, you can help those who are tempted,
*Hebrews 2:18 4.15-16) if Jesus had not been a man, would not
have been able to learn from experience everything we had in
our temptations and struggles in life. But because he has lived
as a man in a position to fully sympathize with our
experiences.

*To complete the biblical teaching about Christ Jesus, we must

affirm not only that he was human, but it was fully divine, the
church has used the term incarnation to refer to the fact that
Jesus is God in human flesh, incarnation was the action God
the Son took through in which took human nature, the biblical
proof of the deity of Christ is very wide in the new testament.
*C ) ... THE CHARACTER OF CHRIST

*One purpose of the incarnation was that Christ
could leave us an example of life,
*(1 Peter 2: 21 ... .1ª John 2: 6) .. this is why we
study their character.
*the Holiness was absolute
*birth and presence here on earth
*Acts 3: 14
*Acts 4:27
*Acts 2: 27
*Hollyness was in his nature

*1. john 14:30

*2. Heb 4: 15
*He was holy in conduct
*1. Heb 7: 26
*2. john 8: 29
*3. john 8: 26
*4. Heb 4: 15
*He was The absolutely true
*He was Absolutely love
*He was absolutely faithful
*He was absolutely righteous
*He was absolutely gracious .
*Class 3
  3RD) ... THE INCARNATION.

*A) incarnate Christ

*the incarnation was a miraculous event, it has
much value in the Holy Scripture, the Bible tell
us this event was so important that overcame
silence and became part of human history.
*The Word of God contains texts in which we
find materials from foundation to teach the
doctrine of the incarnation, see the texts.
*Miquea 5;2 Luke 1;35
*-This Text is very valuable to offer three points
about the Incarnation of Christ:
*1…Virgin Birth.
*It means that man happen without work
*Who would intervene in the Incarnation
*2..-the Power of the Most High will cover you with his
shadow, the Holy spirit who would cover Mary
*The exact location of the body of Mary where the
miraculous intervention will take place
*3..I'll cover (episkiazo) means hide, Mary would be
surrounded by the power of theHoly Spirit avoiding any
genetic inheritance of sinful pollution in the humanity of
Christ and thus be born a Sanctified Being, who was not
part of the falling race called, Son of God.
*John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among
us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten of
the Father , ) full of grace and truth.
*Philippians 2: 6-8 Who, being in very nature God, did not
consider equality with God something to be grasped, but
emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, made in
human likeness; And being found in human form , he
humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even
death on a cross.
*Oh These texts people gave explanations that have been
distorting the truth, teaching false doctrines, which we
refute and deny.
*Don’t get into confusion you must differentiate , the
condition and the position, if we place in the right place
we wont fall into any error of interpretation.
Condition 1 / Position 2
st nd

*F i l i p enses: 2: 6 ... .Being in the form of God ... we are

saying that Christ was in the same condition and position
as God
*Philippians : 2: 7 ...... emptied himself ...... in another
version ... .se emptied (KENOSIS) itself, this gap is referring
to his position in God and not in condition , the continued
being God in all its fullness and attributes (Col 1: 19 ...
* pleased the father that in him should all fullness) .... (Col
2: 9..because in him dwelled all the deity).
*Then does it emptied ? .. It was emptied of equality of
position with the Father in a willingness to come to this
world to suffer the contradiction of sinners against himself.
*God the father was never spit upon, beaten and
crucified
*.he Change the mode of existence without Altering
the divine nature in him .
*Thus it is clear that the emptied of Christ can not be
interpreted as lost of the Attributes of the Deity.
*Rom : 8: 3 For what was impossible for the law,
because it was weak through the flesh, God sending
his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin,
condemned sin in the flesh;
*Galatians : 4: 4 But when the fullness of time, God
sent his Son, born of woman, born under the law ,
*SEE HEBREWS 2:14
DESOBEDIANT
*- The Devil damaged God's creation, using as a means
disobedience by entering the man God had created, and thus
promote the sin of Man
*is the major objective or satan was to make the nature of
man into a sinful nature, and from that moment on the man
continually step to live in sin .
*Rom : 8: 3 ... it tells us that the law could not take the man
out of his fallen state. There have to come someone who could
change the status of man
*Galatians 4:4New International Version (NIV)
*4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born
of a woman, born under the law,
*-Rom: 8: 3 ... in the likeness of sinful flesh
*He appeared and had to be , born of woman, in the
likeness of flesh, had to appear as a man , but he had
no sin , to destroy the power of death, here refers to
the second death, eternal damnation of man.
*-forgave All sins committed and condemn (Rom : 8: 3)
the sinful nature that was in man offering a new spiritual
nature, for those who repent, living the spiritual rebirth
where man can start living the glory of God and eternal
life.
*1 st Timothy : 3:16 And without controversy great is the
mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh,
justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the
Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into
glory.

*It's indisputable, that -and all theologians inthe subject
come to the same conclusion of the Apostle Paul
"MYSTERY” the Incarnation escapes human reasonable
mind, it is a miracle, every move of the Holy Spirit in Mary
womb , remains in absolute secrecy of the Sovereign God.

*his Grace offers glimpses, giving some small lights of
guidance to that of pure heart are internalized in mystery
and goal and purpose of faith, (accept even without
understanding) because there are divine secret that are in
the sovereignty of God he will decide when reveal it to
men, so we have as readers and student believe "tHE
MYSTERY" as it is written, till God wants to reveal it by
removing the veil of ignorance.
*Isaiah : 9: 6 For a child us is born , unto us a son
is given , and the government shall be upon his
shoulder; ys and will call him Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

*'In this text, we can find the difference between

the child born and the son given , marking the
prophet Isaiah, with this vocabulary the two
natures in Christ, the human with the phrase of a
child is born; and the divine with son is given us .

*Genesis : 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the
woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise
thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

*God announces in this text, one of the works that Jesus
Christ had to do, and He alone was exclusively that could
carry out this operation step, destroy, annihilate the
person and the evil work of Satan
*(Heb2: 14 ... to destroy death through him that had the
power of death, that is, the devil).
*-The incarnación took place in the second person of the
Trinity, this means that the second person of the Trinity
took humanity.

*Class 4
B). PURPOSE OF INCARNATION

*1) TO REVEAL GOD TO MEN

*John 1:18 God no one has ever seen; the only Son,
who is in the bosom of the Father, he has made him
known.
*John 14: 7 -8 If you had known me, also you would
know my Father; and from now on you know and have
seen him. Philip said , Lord, show us the Father, and it
suffices.
2) MODEL OF A FAITHFULL LIFE

*1 st Peter: 2:21 is for this you were called;
because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an
example, that we should follow his steps:

*1 John : 2:16 because and everything in the
world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes,
and the pride of life, is not from the Father but
from the world.
*3) PAID A SACRIFICE FOR SIN

*Hebrews : 10: 1-10 ... ..

4) TO COMPLY THE DAVITICAL COVENANT
(ETERNALLY)
)
*Luke 1:31 -33 ... ..
*31 And now, you will conceive in your womb and bear a
son, and shalt call his name JESUS .
*32 He will be great, ys he was called the Son of the Most
High; and the Lord God will give him the throne
*      of David his father;
*33 and he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever, and
his kingdom will have no end.
TO BE COMPASSIONATED PRIEST

*Hebrews 4: 14-16 ....

*14 For t anto, have a great high priest that passed through
the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our
profession.
*15 For we have not an high priest which can not sympathize
of our weaknesses, but one who was tempted in all things
as we are, yet without sin.
*16 Let us therefore come confidently to the throne of grace

7)       TO BE A QUALIFIED JUDGE

*John 5:22 For the Father judges no one,
but all judgment to the Son,

*John 5:27 and he gave authority to
execute judgment, because he is the Son of

C) THE HYPOSTATIC UNION

*1st Timothy 3: 16 ... .great is the mystery of
godliness ....
*-Paul Expressed in a clear way the great
mystery that is contained in the person of Christ
(Colossians : 2: 2) to be encouraged in heart
and united in love, and unto all riches of the full
assurance of understanding, to the mystery of
God the Father and Christ) mystery that only
God, the holy Spirit can be revealing to his
Church .
*Colossians: 1:26 the mystery which has been
hidden from ages and from generations, but now
has been revealed to his saints.
*Colossians: 2: 3 in whom are hidden all the
treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
*Efesians: 3: 3 that by revelation was declared
me the mystery, as I wrote before briefly.
*Efesians: 3: 5 which in other generations was
not made known to the sons of men, as it is now
revealed to his holy Apostles and prophets by
the Spirit.
WHAT IS THE HYPOSTATIC UNION ?
*-The Hypostatic union, understood in the doctrine of Christ, as the
union of two natures, divine and human in the second person of the
Trinity.
*'What we mean is that there is one person with two natures, divine
and human in Christ and its manifestations are true God and true
man
*-these Are two natures:
*-Perfect
*-Complete
*--Inseparable In the person of Jesus
*without mixtures
*without confusion
*-together The two natures in one person .. (figure 1).
*-Mediador Between God and men.
*When the person acts with the divine nature it
acts as A TRUE God.
*(Figure 2)
*
*When the person acts with nature human acts
as a true man .
*(Figure 2)
*FALSE CONCEPTS OF HYPOSTATIC UNION

*It's very important that the clear concept of
the hypostatic union is understood in the
person of Christ.
*-Many Groups have mis-represented the real
concept of the hypostatic union.
*-the Hypostatic union wrongly
interpretecion in the person of Jesus, is to
twist the doctrine of the person of Christ.
*THE DOCESTISTAS.- In the 1st century, unbalancing the
concept of the hypostatic union, accepting the divine nature,
but denied the existence of the human nature of Christ, saying
it was one human appearance, he was more divine than
human.

*THE EBIONITAS.- In the 2nd century this group performed at
different current to the above, they accept human nature but
denied the divine on the basis that they said that Jesus was the
natural son of Joseph and Mary

*THE EUSTIQUIANOS.-In the 5th century taught that he did not

have a complete human nature and a complete divine, that is,
for them Christ was one mixed nature, and these erroneous
concept were contradicted and denied in the Council of
Chalcedon in 451
*THE ARRIANOS.-In the 4th century, they claimed
Christ's humanity and divinity denied on the grounds
that Jesus was not equal to the father, but similar,
downplayed eternity. These doctrinal concepts that
broke and damaged the person of Christ were refuted
as false and declared at the Council of Nicea.325.
*THE APOLINARIANOS.-In the 4th century, supporting
the complete divine nature and did not accept a
complete human nature, in, a human body, this was
condemned at the Council of Constantinople in 680.
*THE NESTORIANOS.-In the 5th century, said that
Christ had two people in him , it was condemned as
false doctrine at the Council of Ephesus in 431.

JESUS CHRIST CONQUERED SIN
*Hebrews 4:15. "For we have a great high priest who
can not sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who
was tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin”
*This Scripture clearly states that there is a difference
between the man in his state of sin, and the Man
Christ Jesus, and that difference is that Christ, unlike
us, is essentially without sin. He became man by the
miracle of incarnation, by force and power of the Holy
Spirit.
*Christ was in all points tempted in our likeness,
however he never sinned
WHAT TEMPTATIONS HEBREWS: 4:14 SAYS
CONCERNING CHRIST?

*The difference is fundamental.
* sinner or sinfull beings by nature, receive evil
temptations from within, that is, from our fallen
humanity.
*Christ, however, had none of this kind of
temptations. This was completely incompatible
with his holy Person.
*The apostle James distinguishes the two
types of temptations
1) ... EXTERNAL TEMPTATIONS

*James 1:2  Consider it pure joy, my brothers and
sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds,

*James : 1: 12 Blessed is the man who endures
temptation; because when he has stood the test, he
will receive the crown of life that God has promised to
those who love him.

*These text s teach about the external temptation,in

which the text refers to in Hebrews: 4:14 those
Christ suffered living .
2nd) ... INTERNAL TEMPTATIONS .

*James: 1: 13 When someone is tempted, do not say that he
is tempted of God; for God it can not be tempted by evil, nor
does he tempt anyone;
*James 1: 14 but each one is tempted when , by his own lust
he is lured and enticed.
*James : 1:15, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to
sin; and sin, when it is finished, (it bringeth forth death.
* ( James : 1: 13-15) speak of inner temptation that we all
suffer but that Christ never had.
*But Jesus experienced the first type of temptations (external)
as none of us ever did. He was tempted in all forms in likeness
with us, but with this infinite difference without sin.
*In Christ there was no tendency or inclination, no
inner struggle with sin in Christ, everything about him
was good and holy .
* 2 nd Corintians : 5: 21 To Him who knew no sin, for
us it made sin, that we might become the
righteousness of God in him.

*Christ, though it was a real man like any other, he
partook of flesh and blood in no different condition
from that of any other man. He participated humanity
under the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit, entirely
apart from sin.

THE OFFICES OF CHRIST
*INTRODUCTION:
*In Old Testament times, usually there were
three kinds of mediators between God and
his people; The prophet, the priest and the
king.
*Today you can see through the scriptures,
Jesus Christ as the one perfect mediator.
*1st Timothy 2: 5 ... For there is one God,
and one mediator between God and men, the
man Christ Jesus,
*Myer Pearlman says with reference to this; Christ
reunites in three dignities or charges. Jesus is the
Christ-Prophet, who enlightens the nations: Christ-
Priest offered a sacrifice of nations; Christ-King
who rules all nations.

*Let us briefly as through the scriptures clearly

shows Jesus gathered itself the three offices,
dignities or charges, and that the Bible speaks in
the Old and New Testament, with reference to the
Lord Jesus Christ as Prophet, Priest and King .
1) ... CHRIST AS THE PROPHET.

*A PRELIMINARY CONCEPTS ...

*1.the prophet was a mediator between God and man.
*2.the ministry of prophet was to proclaim the message
he received directly from God. This proclamation could
be visual (by symbols or signals), oral or written, but in
all cases made known what God had revealed to the
prophet first.
*3..this proclamation could refer to the future, then
taking the character of predictive prophecy, but could
also refer to the present, and then it was mostly
exhortation
B ... the prophetic mission of Jesus Christ.

*  1..En the Old Testament announced that the Messiah

would be a prophet:
*  Deuteronomy 18:15 with Acts 3:22 and 18:15
* 2 .. Christ himself said he was a prophet.
*Luke 13: 33 ... However, I must walk today and
tomorrow and follow my way; because it is not possible
that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem
*3..El people recognized him as a prophet.
* Matthew: 21: 11 ... And people said: This is Jesus,
the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.

*Lucas: 7: 16 ... and all were afraid, and
glorified God, saying, A great prophet has
arisen among us; and God has visited his
people.
*Christ is not only a Prophet, but the Prophet.
The only one who knows all about God,
because he is God the Son. He is the person
of the Trinity that always revealed God to
men. No one can know God apart from Jesus
Christ.
2nd) ... CHRIST AS PRIEST.

*The work, or ministry of the priest among other things was

to represent men before God, act on behalf of men in the
presence of God, offering sacrifices pleasing to God and
some things more .. (would be a good job to personally
perform the work of the priest in the Old Testament and
get compare with Christ).

*We have seen that the prophet was a mediator between
God and men, and the priest is a mediator between men
and God.
*Here are some examples of how Christ was really a true
priest.
*A .. Christ as priest offered a sacrifice to God
for men.

*1. he offered himself (Ephesians 5: 2).
* and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us
and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and
sacrifice to God.
*  2. He obtained eternal redemption for believers
(Hebrews 9:12).
*and not the blood of goats and calves, but by his own
blood, once for all entered the Holy of Holies, having
obtained eternal redemption.
*3. The offering allows us a clear conscience
* (Hebrews 9: 13-14).
*For if the blood of bulls and goats, and the ashes of a
heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purification
of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who
through the eternal Spirit offered himself himself
unblemished to God, cleanse your conscience from dead
works to serve the living God?
*4 His offering removed the sin that separates man from
God (Hebrews 9:26).
*Otherwise he would have had to suffer many times since
the world began; but now, at the end of the world, he
appeared once for all by the sacrifice of himself to put
away with sin.
*  5. His offering made perfect those who believe in
Him (Hebrews 10:14).

*    For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them
that are sanctified.
*  6. His offering was only one, not many. (Hebrews 10:
11-12).
*And every priest standout daily ministering and offering
often times the same sacrifices, which can never take
away sins; but He, having offered once for all time one
sacrifice for sins, he sat at the right hand of God
*B. Christ as High Priest minister now in favor of men
in heaven.

*  1. By Him we approach the throne of grace (Hebrews
4: 14-16).
*Therefore we have a great high priest who has passed
through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold
fast our profession. For we have not a high priest who
can not sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who
was tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Let
us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace to
receive mercy and find grace to help in time.
*  2. He intercedes for us. (Hebrews 7:25;
Romans 8:34).
*Hebrews 7: 2 ... therefore able to save completely those
who approach by him to God, always living to intercede for
them.
*Romans 8: 34 ... Who is he that condemns? It is Christ that
died; moreover, that is risen again, who is even at the right
hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
*  3. It is our advocate (I John 2: 1).
*     My little children, these things write I unto you that ye
sin not; And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the
Father, Jesus Christ the righteous Let us now briefly about
the priests before Christ.
A ... AT THE TIME OF THE PATRIARCHS (BEFORE
MOSES)

*(In the examples we will see, the priestly function is
perceived, not mean that they should be priests, but
they did priestly functions where do we see this ?. .in
the fact that erected altars and offered sacrifices to God
... With the exception of yes Melchizedek was a priest).

*1): .. The parent officiating as a priest.

*Noah... Genesis: 8: 20 ... And Noah built an altar to the
Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean
bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

*Job ... Job: 1: 5 ... And it was that having spent
the day in turn treat, Job sent and sanctified
them , and rose in the morning and offered burnt
offerings according to the number of them all. For
Job said , It may be that my sons have sinned and
cursed God in their hearts. Thus he did every day.
*  2nd): .. The leader of the tribe officiating as a
priest.
... Abraham Genesis 12: 8 Then went from there
to the mountain east of Bethel, and pitched his
tent, having Bethel on the west and Ai on the east;
and there he built an altar to the Lord, and He
invoked the name of the Lord.
B ... FROM MOSES TO CHRIST.
*  In the Law of Moses the Levitical priesthood was established
(from the tribe of Levi). Aaron was the first High Priest, and
then were their descendants (Numbers 3 The priestly office of
Jesus Christ
*  1 ... His priesthood is Melchizedek. Hebrews 7: 1-4, 14-17.
*Hebrews 7: 1-4 ... For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest
of God Most High, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter
of the kings, and blessed him, to whom also Abraham gave a
tenth of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness,
and King of Salem, which is king of peace; Without father,
without mother, without genealogy; having neither beginning of
days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a
priest forever. Now consider how great this man was, to whom
even the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils.
2 ... HIS PRIESTLY WORK.

*  a): .. Past: ...... sacrifice savior: Hebrews 9:28, 10: 1-14.
*Hebrews 9: 28..así Christ was offered once to bear the sins of
many; He will appear a second time without sin, to save
waiting for you.
*Hebrews 10: 1-14 .. For the law having a shadow of things to
come, not the very image of the things, can never with the
same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make
perfect those who draw near . Otherwise they ceased to be
offered, because the worshipers once purged should have had
no more conscience of sins. But these sacrifices each year in
memory of sins is made; because the blood of bulls and goats
to take away sins. Therefore, entering the world says:
*He said , Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and
sin offerings you did not desire, neither had pleasure in
(which are offered according to the law), then He said ,
Behold , I come, O God, to do your will; takes away the
first to establish the second.
*In which will we are sanctified through the offering of
the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest
standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the
same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; but He,
having offered once for all time one sacrifice for sins, he
sat at the right hand of God, henceforth expecting till
his enemies be made his footstool; For by one offering
he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified .
*  b) Present: .....sanctifying Intercesión:

* Hebrews 7: 23-25.
*And the other priests were many in
number , because the death could not
continue, but he, because He continues
forever, has an unchangeable priesthood
thus able to save that for the approach to
God, living always to intercede for them.
*Class 7
3rd) ... CHRIST AS KING.
*
*The work or ministry of a king among other things is to
dominate, control, govern and of course reign, and in
the Bible we find many kings who reigned well and
others not so well, (that is not our subject) .but we have
seen that Christ was a prophet, and priest and now we
wonder was Jesus king? .. what the Bible says? .. About
this

*Here are some verses that confirm us the reality of the
person of our Lord as it really was, is and will be ...
.KING OF KINGS ...
*A ... ACTUAL ORIGIN

*  1. Isaiah 9: 6-7: His real origin prophesied.

*Because a child is born , to us a son is given, and
the principality on his shoulder; and Wonderful
Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince
of Peace. Of the increase of his government and
peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of
David and over his kingdom, establishing and
upholding it with justice and righteousness from
now and forever.
*  2. Luke 1: 31-33: His real origin fulfilled in
time.

*And now, you will conceive in your womb and
bear a son, and shalt call his name JESUS . This
will be great and will be called Son of the Most
High; and the Lord God will give him the
throne of David his father; and he shall reign
over the house of Jacob forever, and his
kingdom will have no end
*3. John 19: 19-20: His real source
announced on the cross.

*And Pilate wrote a title, and put on the
cross, which read: JESUS OF NAZARETH THE
KING OF THE JEWS. And many of the Jews
read this title; because the place where Jesus
was crucified was near the city, and the title
was written in Hebrew, Greek and Latin.
B …HIS REAL FUNCTION

*  1. It's head (king) over all things now. Ephesians 1: 20-23.

*Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the
dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places
above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and
above all name that is named, not only in this age but also in
the next; and he puts all things under his feet, and gave him
head over all things to the church, which is His body, the
fullness of him who fills all in all.
*  2. literally reign in his second coming. Acts 1: 6-7; 1
Timothy 6: 14-15; Matthew
*     25: 31-32; Philippians 2: 9-11; Revelation 17:14, 19:16 .
C ... REAL TESTIMONY .
  1. Mages sought a king, and recognized him as
such. Matthew 2: 1-3 and 2:11.

*Matthew 2: 1-3 ... When Jesus was born in
Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod,
from the East came to Jerusalem Wise men ,
saying: Where is the king of the Jews that is
born? For we saw his star in the east, and are
come to worship him. Hearing this, King Herod
was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
*Matthew: 2: 11

*... And going into the house , they saw the

child with his mother Mary, and they bowed
down and worshiped him ; and opening their
treasures, they offered him gifts of gold,
frankincense and myrrh.

*  2. The angel told Mary that he would be king .
Luke 1: 31-33.
*And now, you will conceive in your
womb and bear a son, and shalt call his
name JESUS .
*This will be great and will be called
Son of the Most High; and the Lord God
will give him the throne of David his
father; and he shall reign over the
house of Jacob forever, and his
kingdom will have no end.

*3. Christ said he was a King before
Pilate. John 18:36.
*Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of
this world; if my kingdom were of this
world, my servants fight, that I should
not be delivered to the Jews; but my
kingdom is not from here.
*CONCLUSION :

*As the only mediator between God and men,
Jesus Christ has the ministry of Prophet, Priest
and King. I Timothy 2: 5.

*For there is one God, and one mediator
between God and men, Christ Jesus
