 Installation art is composed of several genre
such as painting, sculpture, and mediums, like
ready-mades, found object, drawing text,
objects assembled together to interact with
space or art objects formed creatively by the
artist.
Art production
Installation art is often identified with
sculpture because of its three dimensional
forms and the technique employed in it. The
tremendous change in sculptural attitude has
influenced installation artist.
• Installation as a visual art form, is labor
intensive and the artist usually works with
fellow artists and assistants with welding,
carpentry, constructions, and fabrication skill
because installation art involves among
several things: architectural setting,
environment site, use of everybody objects in
a specific context and the viewer/participant.

installation art piece on which light, video or
film is projected.

2. Performance-installation art is combined with
theatre and dance. Lights and sound are part
of the design and performance is made
under a specific span of time. This type of
installation requires careful planning not only
for placement of the materials but more
importantly, to achieve the desired effect
with combined lights, sounds, and the
performance movements.
• 3. conceptual installation art- places emphasis
on an idea or concept rather than in a tangible
art object. It may include a written text,
instruction, or a request that leads the viewer
to think about an idea.
• 4. interactive installation art- allows the
viewer to touch, walk in or through, listen to
or interact with the installation piece.
• 5. environmental installation- encompasses
ecological concerns and is a celebration of an
artist’s connection with the beauty of nature,
the natural world, and the environment.
