Capuso, Asedon flaunt 4-1, 4-0 win respectively

DAVAO CITY—CALABARZON Heroes snookers John Andrei Capuso,14, of Laguna

Province and Clarisse Asedron of Batangas Province, 16, ruled in the opening of
Nine-Ball Event on Thursday, thrashing Central Visayas Fighters and Davao Eagles,
respectively at 2019 Palarong Pambansa held in Gaisano Grand Citygate Mall.

Laguneño Capuso started his campaign with a 3-1 victory while Batangña Asedron
opened the game with a 4-0 triumph.

Grade 8 Capuso came off from a rough opening as he started the game with an
early foul after failing to contact the object ball allowing CVIRAA pooler Vincent
Gerard B. Araneta to set strategically a cue ball in hand placement and
successfully pocketed consecutive legal shots that end the first match in favor of
CVIRAA, 0-1
CVIRAA then fired an opening hit in the second game but failed to pocket
a ball, then Capuso fired a strike only to contact with the object ball and
placed the cue ball in safe spot.

The two went on a tough battle as both fells short to pocket the object ball
that lasted for five minutes but Capuso found an open hit and fired
thriving consecutive pockets to end the second match with a 1-1 deadlock.

It was a laidback battle for Capuso for third after striking a hit during the
opening shot and luckily pocketed the ball-9 winner to seal the match with
a 2-1 advantage.

The CALABARZON billiards buff Casino maintained his sound focus and
concentration in the game as he continued his onslaught after pocketing a
legal ball in the opening and then fired consecutive attacks to curve out a
3-1 edge at third fourth round
Capuso, however, was hampered from a steady position in the opening of the fifth
round as he committed a foul permitting Asedron to set another ball in hand to
deliver successive pockets but cut short as he made an error from a cue ball
scratch (the cue ball is pocketed) pocketing yellow, blue and red but cut short after
an ill-timed fault.

After perfectly placing the cue ball behind the head string, Capuso launched a
strike to pocket purple, green, brown and black then went on the other side of the
table to fire the final attack ending the match with a 4-1 winner.

Meanwhile, Acedera, Grade 7 student of Anselmo A. Sandoval Memorial National

High School, overwhelmed Region X11 with a comfortable 4-0 triumph.
