Relevant
• Evidence is relevant when it has a relation
to the fact in issue as to induce belief in its
existence or non-existence
Competent
• Evidence must not be excluded by the law
or Rules of Court.
• Competency rule are based on public
policy considerations which override the
relevancy of the Evidence

Documentary Evidence
• Documentary Evidence consists of
writings or any material containing letters,
words, numbers, symbols, or other modes
of written expression offered as proof of
their contents.

Object Evidence
• Objects that have readily identifiable

What is Chain of Custody?
• Chain of custody is the method of
authenticating object evidence, especialy
object evidence of the third kind, by
showing its movement and location from
the time it was obtained until the time it is
offered in evidence.
Will the non-compliance with Section 21, paragraph 1, Art II
R.A. 9165 render void the seizure of and custody over
drugs?
