Note:

The Barangay treasurer shall be


bonded in accordance with existing
laws in an amount to be determined
by the Sangguniang Barangay but
not exceeding Ten thousand pesos
(P=10,000.00), premiums for which
shall be paid by the Barangay.
BENEFITS OF
BARANGAY
OFFICIALS
The Punong Barangay, the Sangguniang
Barangay members, the Barangay Secretary
and the Barangay Treasurer shall be entitled
to the following benefits:

• Honorarium;
• Travel Allowance;
• Cash Gifts;
• Insurance Coverage;
• Free hospitalization in government hospitals or in
extreme urgency, the same officials may be confined in
private hospitals with expenses chargeable against
barangay funds of not more than P5,000 pesos per
official;
• Free Tuition and matriculation Fees including legitimate
dependent children attending State Universities or
Colleges;
• Conferment of Civil Service Eligibility (BOE or 1st Level);

• Sangguniang Barangay Members
(SB);
• Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman as
Ex-officio SB member;
• Barangay Secretary; and
• Barangay Treasurer.
Cumulation and Commutation of Leave
Benefits

The Barangay officials shall be entitled to leave credits/benefits


equivalent to thirty (30) days for every year of service in the
barangays;

The cumulation of leave credits of the punong barangay and the


barangay kagawad shall be based on their actual attendance in
regular sessions of the SB. For this purpose, the minimum of
regular session of the SB shall be (2) twice a month;

Attendance of punong barangay and the sangguniang barangay


member in 24 regular sessions a year shall earn 30 days leave
credits; and

Leave credits shall be cumulated up to one year only and shall be


commuted yearly [Budget Operations Manual for Barangays, DBM,
July 2006] .
