Electrical Safety
 working with live electrical panels in the switch yard / sub-station
is not advisable during raining.
 Lay all power cables overhead/over the ground. Avoid power
cable joints. In case cable joints are required, provide the
standard insulations and keep the cables rigidly away from water.
 No worker should be allowed to work at un –protected area
(Electrical pole / towers , free beam / cantilever etc.) at height
during raining.
 DBs shall be protected with adequate weather protection shed
OR plastic cover to restrict entry of water.
 All body earthings of all electrical panels, DBs will be checked for
tightness and effectiveness.
 Welding operation is carry only in shed to protect from moisture
with Fire Precautionary Measures..

the extent possible and never allow any temporary joint in
water.
 Poles installed for over head cabling - make them rigid / more
stable.
 Do not use any Halogen at site during this period.
 Avoid / arrest water leakage in all offices / buildings as this
may cause electrical faults / short-circuit in the electrical
system.
EHS MANSOON PLAN
Vehicle And Equipment
 Park all construction equipments in a stable ground & at nights.
 Check all the vehicles entering into the site, check thetyre
conditions (the tread grooves should be of minimum 1.5mm in
all the tyres. Look for sidewall cuts in tires, if so, replace them
immediately).
 Ensure proper functioning of the break system and wipers, signal
light, tail lamp and reverse horn are in working condition.
 No matter how well your vehicle is serviced, nothing substitutes
your being alert and careful while driving.
 Wet-weather driving demands gentle use of all the main
controls - steering, clutch, brake and accelerator - and a larger
allowance for errors and emergencies.
EHS MANSOON PLAN

Vehicle And Equipment

• Carry emergency equipment.

• Things like a flashlight, spanner or ropes may not be required
but it may come in handy during any eventuality.
• First and foremost: slow down! It takes longer to stop or adjust
in wet weather.
• The speed limit during the rains should be 5 km/Hr within the
site premises.
• Leave lots of space between the vehicle and man

 Never drive the Truck, crane & hydra in the bank filled areas.
 Never operate cranes and vehicle in the unleveled area
immediately after the rain.
 The booms of all cranes shall be lowered, if the wind speed
is too high(greater than 25km/hr at nights)
EHS MANSOON PLAN
While and After the Heavy rain and the storm
 If power lines and poles are down in yard or in the site, always
treat then as if they were energized and dangerous.
 Never try to remove any electrical pole unless you are
authorized to do so. Stay away. Call the electrician and report
the location so that, repairs can be made as soon as possible.
 Never try to help some one trapped by a power line. You
endanger your own safety. Inform concern authority.
 Disconnect computers and other delicate electronic equipment.
Consider attaching surge protectors to such equipment.
 Stay away from metal fencing (metal fences could become
electrified by a downed wire. Be very careful, especially after a
storm).
 Necessary warning signs need to be displayed, near all the
water filled pits
