Objective
• The new Lexicon Certification Request tool is intended to establish a worldwide
standard of professional excellence and to distinguish those individuals who have
the highest levels of proven skills and expertise.

• The cost of all certifications approved by IBM through the CRT tool will be
reimbursed subject to employee seeking the necessary approvals before taking
up the exam and successfully clearing the certification exam

Steps for Accessing the Certification Request Tool in Lexicon
Certification Request Tool (earlier know as SIKSHA Tool) is migrated to Lexicon 2.5

– Login in to Lexicon using the following URL https://lexicon.in.ibm.com/Synergy

– User can login using IBM Intranet ID and Password


Note: Only IBM Regular & FTH employee can access the application in Lexicon

Click on Certification Request Tool in Apps tab and under Manager Work Bench section and select a role

Steps for creating a new Certification Request
To create a new certification request one must select “Employee” role.

Right click on the open area on the tool and select “New”

Provide all the mandatory information in the New Certification Request and Submit

Submission of the request will process through 4 level of approvals before its available with First Line Manager for attestation and completing the
request. Rejection in any of any one the approval will result in cancellation of the request. 3 reminders with 2days SLA are Auto Set.

4 Levels of Approvals Required before taking the certification exam:


– First Line Manager
– Second Line Manager
– Learning Team
– Business Finance
• Addition of New Certification names . Change in Certification date and Amount is through Issue Tracker in lexicon
• Certification approvals are valid within Given quarter.
• All Approvals to be in place before booking exam. Certification Policy

Steps for Approving the Certification Request
Once a Certification Request is submitted for approval based on Blue Pages information the request would available for approval with First Line Manager
of the Employee in the Certification Request Tool.

An email notification will also be sent to the Approver informing of pending approval request

Approver need to login to the Lexicon and access Certification Request Tool and select the role to see all the pending requests for him/her and to approve
the accordingly

Completion of the approval on the tool will trigger the next level of approval along with an email communication for the pending action.

While the request is pending approval employee can track the progress of the approval in the tool or emails (as and when every approval is completed
Employee/Requestor will be in the copy of email that is sent for the next approval

To approve a request one need to right click on the request that is pending approval and select “Approve/Reject”

Steps to complete the certification request with the attestation
After completing all the approval’s Post Successful completion of the Certification request would be assigned to the First Line
Manager of the employee for completion of attestation

First Line Manager need to provide the mandatory details and confirmation on the tool to complete the attestation and the request

Manager can only be able to complete the attestation on or after Certification Exam Date

Steps for Canceling the Certification Request

Employee/Requestor has got the access to manually cancel a request apart from Admin.

A request can be cancelled anytime once its submitted for approval irrespective of the status of it except completed

Apart from manual cancellation, a request can be auto cancelled by the tool when any of the approver failed to approve/reject the request
that is pending with them even after reminder emails are sent or when First Line Manager failed to complete the attestation even after
reminder emails are sent

An Employee/Requestor can cancel a request by selecting the request and then right clicking on it to select “Cancel”

Once a request is cancelled it cannot be re-submitted.
