WHAT IS CURRICULUM ALIGNMENT
AND WHY DOES IT MATTER?
• is the process in which educators across all levels formally
evaluate a course or an educational program to address the
changing needs of students and the workforce.

• Teachers, educational advisers and program coordinators


collaborate to develop the curriculum and ensure there are no
gaps that may impede academic progress.
Anderson (2002) identifies the process of curriculum alignment within a
triangular metaphor that links:
• objectives and assessments

curriculum which is alignment process, it important that
teachers have the vision to effective instruction to guide
the design and implementation of their lessons.
