MISSION - VISSION
MISSION
San Carlos Preparatory’s Mission is to
educate all students in Academic, Career and
Personal/Social Development in collaborative
partnership with parents/guardians, school,
personnel and community members. San Carlos
Preparatory School will provide a safe and positive
environment for students to build a foundation of
lifelong learning skills, good citizenship, respect for
others, and enthusiasm for achieving their highest
creative and academic potential.

rewarding careers, and healthy work/life balance. All
students leave San Carlos Preparatory School well
prepared to make positive contributions to our diverse

CLASS INVOLVEMENT

All students should report to class


regularly and on time equipped with the
materials required for the subjects and
shall participate actively in the class
proceedings.

RESPECT AND COURTESY

All students must respect and extend


courtesy to school personnel, both
teaching and support staff (office and
maintenance personnel) including the
school security guard, campus visitors, as
well as their fellow students.

STUDENT’S IDENTIFICATION

All students must wear their ID at all


times ready for checking by the guard
manning the school gate when entering the
campus or by the teachers and other school
personnel at anytime during the day.
Official ID must be worn while at the
school premises every school day.
CAMPUS DISCIPLINE
1. Avoid unnecessary noise when passing the
corridors.
2. Pupils are encouraged to speak in English.
3. Respect for our flag is a must for every one.
Pupils are expected to observe proper decorum
during the flag ceremony.
4. The cleanliness of a school speaks of a good
spirit. Interest and pride for the school motivates
you to regard school property as your own.
Therefore avoid writing on walls, tables and
littering inside the campus.

The following acts or omissions are deemed improper to pupil conduct for
which one may be disciplined according to wit:

A. Failing to properly wear his/her valid ID card while


inside the campus: failing to report the loss of his/her
ID card to the administration within 24 hours; failing
to present his/her ID card when requested by school
authorities, faculty or guard on duty.
• 1st violation – Oral Warning
• 2nd violation – Parent/Teacher Communication
• 3rd violation – Strictly Disciplinary Probation

for which one may be disciplined according to wit:

B. Unauthorized stay in or entry to school campus


• 1st violation – Oral Warning
• 2nd violation – Parent/Teacher Communication
• 3rd violation – Strictly Disciplinary Probation

The following acts or omissions are deemed improper to pupil conduct
for which one may be disciplined according to wit:

C. Littering disposable materials such as but not


limited to bottles, cans, pieces of papers, plastic
and the like in the classroom, library and other
places in the school.
• 1st violation – Written Warning
• 2nd violation – Strictly Disciplinary Probation
• 3rd violation – Suspension

The following acts or omissions are deemed improper to pupil conduct
for which one may be disciplined according to wit:

D. Eating inside the classroom during class hours


in the laboratories, audiovisual room, computer
room, speech laboratory or library at any time.
• 1st violation – Oral Warning
• 2nd violation – Parent/Teacher Communication
• 3rd violation – Strictly Disciplinary Probation

The following acts or omissions are deemed improper to pupil conduct for which one
may be disciplined according to wit:
E. Defaming any teacher, personnel or administrator; giving
oral or sending, disseminating or posting any written or
electronically transmitted message or graphics, or
demonstrating offensive gestures which causes a person his
reputation or good name to be threatened, harassed,
maligned, besmirched, disgraced, degraded, insulted
ridiculed or destroyed.
• 1st violation – Warning or Reprimand to Suspension
• 2nd violation – Suspension to Dismissal/Non-Readmission
• 3rd violation – Suspension to Expulsion

The following acts or omissions are deemed improper to pupil conduct for which one
may be disciplined according to wit:
F. Producing, possessing, disturbing, publishing, exhibiting
and disseminating literature, films, prints, plays, shows or
similar forms which are offensive to morals, contrary to law,
public order good custom and policies.

• 1st violation – Warning or Reprimand to Suspension


• 2nd violation – Suspension to Dismissal/Parent-Teacher
• Communication
• 3rd violation – Non-Readmission

The following acts or omissions are deemed improper to pupil conduct
for which one may be disciplined according to wit:
G. Giving money, gift or token of any kind or giving a treat to a
faculty member concerned or school employee or official and/or
any person acting for and his behalf in order to obtain any kind
of favor or benefit such as but not limited to exemption from
attending class, lecture, examination, recitation, test, quiz or
similar activity of leniency or non submission of project,
experiment, report, term paper or other requirements.
• 1st violation – Oral Warning or Parent-Teacher Communication
• 2nd violation – Non-Readmission with invalidation of grade
• 3rd violation – Dismissal with invalidation of grade
CAMPUS DISCIPLINE
The following acts or omissions are deemed improper to pupil conduct
for which one may be disciplined according to wit:

H. Engaging in any form of gambling within the


premises of the school.
• 1st violation – Oral Warning or Parent-Teacher
Communication
• 2nd violation – Suspension
• 3rd violation – Suspension or Expulsion
CAMPUS DISCIPLINE
The following acts or omissions are deemed improper to pupil conduct
for which one may be disciplined according to wit:
I. Cheating during examinations and quizzes, or
plagiarism in connection with any academic work.
• 1st violation – Warning with invalidation of
grade or Parent-Teacher Communication
• 2nd violation – Censure to suspension with
invalidation of grade
• 3rd violation – Suspension to Dismissal with
invalidation of grade
OFF-CAMPUS DISCIPLINE
To uphold the academic integrity of San Carlos
Preparatory School, protecting at all time its name,
reputation and ideas.
To keep away from establishment of ill-repute such as
gambling joints, drinking places and other similar
places and to avoid associating with people of
questionable character and conduct.
Not to use, without prior authority, the name of San
Carlos Preparatory School in any ticket, invitation
program, announcement or similar printed materials.
ATTENDANCE
Regular and punctual attendance is necessary for a
successful schoolwork. Habitual and incorrigible
absences and tardiness are subject to disciplinary
action. Five consecutive later should ask and secure
and admission slip from the Guidance Counselor.
A student is expected to be in his/her designated area
for line formation five minutes before the scheduled
time.
As much as possible, appointments with doctors
should be made on weekends or after class hours so
that the attendance in class will not be sacrificed.
ABSENCE REGULATION
Per Manual Regulation for Private School Sec.73 Art XIV
“A student who has incurred absences of more than
20% of the required total number of class days and
laboratory period in a given time should not be given
credit”.
CATCH UP WORK
A pupil is held responsible for all assignments and for
the entire content of the subject missed during his/her
unexcused absences.
ON GUARDIANS AND COMPANIONS

Guardians and companions are not allowed to stay


inside and within the site of the classroom. They
should wait outside the school premises so as not to
disturb the classes. They are urged to be on time to
fetch their wards upon dismissal of classes. The school
shall not be liable for children who overstay.
EXCUSED/UNEXCUSED ABSENCE

The homeroom adviser shall determine whether an


absence is excused or unexcused and shall issue
appropriate sanctions. Students who come in after an
absence from school will have to submit their excuse
letter and secure Admission Slip from the Guidance
Counselor.
MEDICAL CLEARANCE

A letter signed by the parent or guardian, inclusive


dates and reason for the absence, must be submitted
to the Class Adviser. A student whose absence is due to
communicate disease must secure a clearance from a
physician.
CLASS PRESIDENT’S AND VICE-
PRESIDENT’S DUTIES
Should a teacher be absent or delayed on his way to
class students should begin working on their own in an
orderly fashion. The class president and/or vice-
president will take charge of the class, while they are
waiting for the teacher or a substitute teacher in cases
where the teacher is absent.
TRANSIT PASS

Whenever the student leaves the classroom during


class hours, he/she must secure a Transit Pass from the
teacher handling the class at that time. This pass
should be properly filled in, signed by persons
concerned and returned to the teacher. Students
without transit pass should not be allowed to leave the
class. Officers and service units should demand transit
passes from students when they come for whatever
reasons.
APPOINTMENT WITH PARENTS

Parents are welcome to confer with any member of the


faculty. All such conferences, however, must be
coursed through the Business Office. Teachers are
available for parent-teacher conferences during their
vacant periods.
HOMEWORK

Homework is considered to be part of the student’s


academic work. Each learner is expected to accomplish
neatly and accurately the homework for the day. The
assignment notebook should be regularly inspected
and signed by the parents to ensure the
accomplishment of homework and transmission of
communications.
COMMUNICATION DISSEMINATION

Students are expected to cooperate with the school so


that all communications, bulletins, letters and
memoranda are relayed or given to their parents who
will sign and return the reply slip within three (3) days.
TYPHOON SIGNALS

When typhoon signal are raised, the following shall be


observed:
 Typhoon signal No.1 – classes are automatically
suspended in pre-school level and elementary level.
 Typhoon signal No.2 – classes are suspended both pre-
school, grade school level and high school level.
 Typhoon signal No.3&4 – classes are automatically
suspended until such time that the typhoon signal shall
have been lowered.
 There is no need to call the school for verification.
PERSONAL SAFETY

No student may leave the campus without the written


request from his/her parents approved by the school
authorities. The homeroom teachers issue departure
permits.
Pupils leaving the campus without permission or who
are guilty of cutting classes will be subjected to
disciplinary actions.
Pupils who bring their own lunch must eat in the
canteen or any designated area. The canteen serves
meals and snacks every school day.
GAMES AND OTHER
ELECTRONIC DEVICES
• Bringing extra clothes is encouraged to allow
pupils to change whenever they engage in
activities requiring strenuous exercises. They
must remove their uniforms and fold them
neatly prior to playing. Uniforms should be worn
again after playing.
• Toys of violence, rough and dangerous games
such as roller blades, skateboards, etc. are not
allowed inside the campus.
GAMES AND OTHER
ELECTRONIC DEVICES
• Electronics gadgets such as game boys,
walkmans, discmans, cellular phones during
class hours, beepers, one/two-way radios,
portable sound system, etc. are not allowed in
school.
• Equipment brought into the campus should be
logged-in with the guard.
