INTRODUCTION

CVA is a disease that causes physical weakness. This condition

makes CVA patients need a family role to adapt. Calista Roy
proposed a theory about the process of adaptation.

The purpose of this study was to determine family roles in the

process of adaptation CVA patients with mobilization physical
disorders by Callista Roy theory.
METHODS

The research design was

correlational with cross sectional
approach. Independent variables are the role of
the family and the dependent
variable is the process of adaptation.
The population was CVA patients Data processing techniques are then
with disorders physical mobilization cross tabulated using the chi-square
total of 147 patients with a sample of test with contingency coefficients.
60 respondents, taken by accidental
sampling technique.

DISCUSSION
Statistical test of the role of the family in the process of adapting CVA patients to the
disruption of physical mobilization according to Calista Roy at Ahmad Dahlan
Hospital, Kediri City by using the Chi-Square test, the sig value p = 0.003. The value of p
= 0.003 <0.05, so Ho is rejected, so there is a significant relationship between the role of
the family and the process of adaptation of CVA patients with disruption of physical
mobilization according to Calista Roy at Ahmad Dahlan Hospital in Kediri City.

In accordance with the theory put forward by Friedman, where the process of
disease in the family affects the whole family and its interactions, while the
family, in turn, affects the travel and health status of its members (Friedman,
Bowden, and Jones, 2010).
CONCLUSION

there is a relationship between the role of the family and the

adaptation process in Ahmad Dahlan hospital , Kediri City
(Chi-Square, p = 0.003 less than £ 0.05, then Ho is rejected),
while the relationship level is in the moderate and positive
category (Contingency Coefficient = 0.407), which means
better the role of the family, the better the process of
adaptation of the patient itself and otherwise.
SUGGESTION

The results of this study can be used as input for research

land to provide maximum service especially CVA sufferers
who experience impaired physical mobilization by
providing IEC (communication, information, and
education) to families and CVA sufferers.
