thoughts, feeling or emotions, and
sensations that constitute the individuality
and identity of a person

Came from the Latin
word term
“adolescere” which
mean “grow”
Adolescence
is the period of your life in which you develop
from being a child into being an adult.
SELF CONCEPT
o It is your perception of yourself, how you define and
understand yourself as a multi-dimensional human
being.
UNDERSTANDING YOURSELF AS
ADOLESCENCE
You undergo different changes and
development such as:
•Physical
•Social
•Emotional
•Mental
•Spiritual
Adolescence implies a stage of extreme
transformation and growth in an individual
which encompass various aspects of
development such as:

undergo changes and
size, shape, and
composition as you grow
to become a capable
biological reproduction.

Cognitively, your
thinking skills
rapidly advance.
•Social

Many of you will gear


towards independence
and turn to their peers
for support.

experiences in your lives
that would test your
ability to cope with a
number of emotions.
SELF COMPLEXITY

o If you have a lot of social identities, such as a
daughter, student, volleyball team captain, friend,
sister– you are said to have high complexity.
SELF-ESTEEM
oSelf-esteem is an individual's subjective evaluation of
their own worth. Self-esteem encompasses beliefs
about oneself as well as emotional states, such as
triumph, despair, pride, and shame
SELF EFFICACY
othe belief and confidence that you can accomplish
tasks and control your environment.
SELF AWARENESS
o Self-awareness is the ability to know yourself
extensively, not just regarding traits and
characteristics, but also knowing your inner state and
how you think.
Being aware on how you look, think, feel and
acts helps you to know more about yourself.

Steps to Become More Self-aware:

1. Make an effort to look at yourself

2. Set your personal goal
Writing your own manifesto is a good way to
push yourself into identifying what you want
to improve about yourself.
3. Keep a Journal
documenting things through a journal helps
as in makes you more aware of what your
are doing and where problems might be
coming from.
4. Make a self-review
In this way, you can see someone’s view
point and achieve a little extra insight about
yourself.

weaknesses is an empowered individual.
