Indomie is a brand of instant noodle produced by an
Indonesian company; Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk,
better known as Indofood.It is distributed in Australia,
Asia, Africa, New Zealand, United States, Canada,


Europe, and Middle Eastern countries. Outside its
main manufacturing plants in Indonesia, Indomie is
also produced in Nigeria since 1995 where it is a

popular brand and has the largest instant noodle
manufacturing plant in Africa.

01 In 1972, Indomie was first introduced to the market in
Indonesia.

05 On 3 January 2010, Indomie launched the new pack
design from its company.

Public Health Bureau announced that cosmetic
preservatives were found in Indomie instant noodle

10 1 January 2014, Indomie launched a new flavour


called Iga Penyet (Spareribs).

11 September 2014, Indomie launched two new flavours


called Dendeng Balado (Spicy dendeng beef) and
Soto Lamongan (Lamongan Soto)

12 October 2015, Indomie launched three new flavours


special for children, called My Noodlez, with crunchy
topping, Pizza Cheese, Salmon Teriyaki and
Seaweed flavours.
On 11 January 2016, Australian singer-songwriter
13 Courtney Barnett releases song Three packs a day,
a song about Mie goreng on a compilation on her
record label Milk!

14 March 2016, Indomie launched two new flavours, Mi


goreng with soup-based flavours, Mi goreng Rasa
Ayam Bawang and Mi goreng Rasa Soto.
On 6 November 2016, Indomie was, for the first time,
15 spotted as a sponsor of Premier League title holders
Leicester City during a league match against West
Bromwich Albion.

16 January 2017, Indomie launched a new flavour


called Tengkleng and Tahu Tek.
Naming

"Indo" stands for "Indonesia" and "mie" is the Indonesian word for "noodles",
therefore "Indomie" stands for "noodles from Indonesia" or "Indonesian
noodle". Both Indomie and IndoMie can be used to describe the brand.
• Description

Indomie is a form of instant noodle spiced with the Indonesian palate. The most
popular flavour is Indomie Mi goreng, followed by Indomie Soto Mie (Noodle Soto
flavour), Indomie Ayam Bawang (onion chicken), Indomie Kari Ayam (chicken curry),
Indomie Kaldu Ayam (chicken stock) and Indomie Ayam Spesial (special chicken). The
Indomie website states that many of their noodles, including meat flavours are
vegetarian.
Ingridients

Indomie is made from flour supplied by Bogasari flour mills, and


fortified with vitamin A, B1, B6, B12, niacin, folic acid and iron.[6]
Indomie is certified as halal by Majelis Ulama Indonesia, certified ISO
9001:2001 and HACCP from SGS.[6]

Indomie Instant Noodles has grown to become a household
name across the country. Indomie is produced in Nigeria
since 1995 where it is a popular brand and has the largest
instant noodle manufacturing plant in Africa. Since 2003,
Dufil’s fortunes shifted and its revenues have increased at
an average rate of almost 30 per cent a year. One reason is
the heavy marketing focus. The company’s advertisements
appear on buses and buildings around the country. Mothers
with young children are a particular target market. One of
Dufil’s popular catchlines reads: “No mama be like you, no
noodles be like Indomie”.
Indomie in Australia
Indomie was first introduced in Australia in the 1990s. It
began with the Indonesians bringing in Indomie themselves
as they started their university lives in Australia. It has
grown in popularity due to its delicious authentic mi goreng
taste. Today, Indomie has become a well know snack for
many Australians, particularly the university students. It is
now the no.1 Mi Goreng in Australia.
Indomie in New Zealand
In New Zealand, Indomie was first introduced about 20
years ago. Initially, it was popular with the Indonesian
students who were missing their Indomie from back home.
However, today Indomie has become a popular snack for
many New Zealanders. In fact, Indomie has become so
popular that it is now the no.1 selling instant noodles brand
in New Zealand.
Indomie in Saudi Arabia
In 1986, Indomie instant noodles were first introduced into
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, merging Asia and Saudi
Arabia into one world, one of quintessential and absolutely
riveting-in-taste noodles. Indomie’s premium wheat noodles
are now part of every Saudi home. Indomie’s factory
produces up to 2 million packs a day in Jeddah alone,
where it opened in 1994. It was then that a Saudi company
first shook hands with the world’s largest noodle
manufacturer and setup a state-of-the-art plant known as
“Pinehill Arabia Food Limited” thus making Saudi Arabia a
self-sufficient producer of Indomie instant noodles. It didn’t
take long for Saudis to acquire a taste for Indomie’s
flavored noodles and PAFL steadily distributed Indomie
across the Kingdom, soon thereafter exporting it to all
Arabic countries and soon enough on a global scale.
Indomie in Serbia
Indo Serbia Food started operations in August 2010. The
main activity is import, distribution and sale of dehydrated
Indomie Nudli. Indomie is available in all retail facilities in
Serbia. Indomie is the most famous and largest brand of
nude in the world. Indofood is a parent company based in
Jakarta, Indonesia, from where this brand came from. Indo
Serbia Food, based in Belgrade, has business units in
Cacak, Nis and Novi Sad. In addition to Serbia, Indo Serbia
Food operates in the territories of Eastern and Southern
Europe (Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Bosnia and
Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia) .
Indomie in Egypt
In 1997, a partnership was established between local
entrepreneur named Maher Abu Alata and Wazaran Group,
to set up a company specialized in Export, Import,
Distribution and Marketing and the company named
“Transworld”. The aim for setting up this company is to
import and distribute Indomie in Egypt. In 2006, a company
specialized in production was established and named “
Salim Wazaran Abu Alata, Ltd.”SAWATA. SAWATA is a
limited liability company(LLC) that was established together
by Salim Wazaran Ltd. (SAWAZ) in Saudi Arabia and Abu
Alata Co. in Egypt.On the 1st of October 2009, Instant
Noodle factory located in an industrial area, Badr City Cairo
Egypt was commercial production Indomie and to be
distributed to all over markets in Egypt.
Indomie in Turkey
In Turkey, Indomie was first introduced in 2010 under the
name of Adkoturk Gıda Sanayi ve Ticaret LTD. ŞTİ.
Adkoturk, has been operating in Turkey with 100% foreign
capital by the participation of international investors.
Adkoturk Gıda Sanayi ve Ticaret LTD. ŞTİ. is one of
Turkey's most prestigious corporation and a pillar of the
Turkish economy in Noodle producing.
