Why recycle plastics?

- 8.300.000.000 ton since 1950.
- 400.000.000 ton/year.
- 25.000.000 ton/year/oceans.
- only 9% is recycled.

CONCLUSION
• Although the high costs of recycling are still high, the long-term cost-
benefit ratio for the environment in general is significantly beneficial.
• Suggested recommendations includes improving waste management,
promoting green alternatives, educating consumers or implementing bans
on certain uses of plastics (Glaser, 2012).
