RACETRACK

PROJECT

By:Caleb Elijah
COVER LETTER
Geometry has always been my least favorite topic in math but after taking this
class i don't see it as challenging as i thought it would be.i found myself looking
forward to this class For example when i was first heard about the pythagorean
theorem.
Question
I was asked to make a 4 lane racetrack 800 meters for one lap and 50
semicircular inner end.

Each lane must be the same distance in running length so they all must
start in different places
Finding the Size of the track
If The linside land has to be 800 meters all the way around we will have to
subtract 100 from that 800 and then divide by two which is 350
Creating the racetrack
The racetrack has two semicircles and two straights so we
would multiply the 50 meters and the 350 meters of straights

Than we all sums and get 800 an 800 meter race track

meters for the inside lane

Finding the difference between the lanes
I decided to make the size of each lane 1.5 meters. This means that each
lane the father out it is going to get to start 3 meters sooner as shown by this
chart. This slides shows the difference between all the lanes; the higher the total
the more they get a head start.
LANE radius Straightaway Total

1. 25 350 (50+350x)2=800

2. 25.75 350 (51.5+350x)2=803

3. 26.50 350 (53+350x)2=806

4. 27.25 350 (54.5+350)x2=809
