Opening Prayer
Lord, as we gather today at this meeting we ask
that you will be in our midst. Help us to make
decisions that will be pleasing to You. Help us to
be able to discuss the matters at hand in a
reasonable way, and to be willing to give up
having our own way. You, O God, are my
strength, my patience, my light and my counsel.
It is you who make responsive to me the students
confided to my care. Abandon me not to myself
for one moment.
Opening Prayer
For my own conduct and for that of my
students, grant me the spirit of wisdom and
understanding, the spirit of knowledge and
piety, the spirit of holy fear of you, and an
ardent zeal to procure your glory. God let this
meeting be productive and, as should be the
case in all areas of our lives, help us to keep
You at the forefront of our mindsas we do the
work set before us.
Amen.
Reflection
Matthew 7:7-8
We all have had circumstances in our life that were “life changing
events”. Some of these situations were negative, like loss of job,
catastrophe to possessions such as home or cars, sickness or sudden
death of loved ones. Some of these situations were positive such as
job promotions, the birth of new family additions or financial gain.
Good or bad all “life changing events” have one thing in common,
the need for persistent action to make the adjustment.
Reflection
Matthew 7:7-8
Matthew 7:7 reminds us of the path we can take when there are
unexpected changes in life; “Ask and it will be given to you
seek and you will find; knock and the door will be open
to you.”
Reflection
Matthew 7:7-8
Unexpected “life changing events” requires “personal change” to adapt
and move forward. We need to ask for the necessary tools to adapt to a
“life changes”, we should seek new direction to accommodate “life
changes” and most of all when God opens a door, we need to be receptive
to the direction, the newly opened door is taking us. With God, every
adversity has an open door. When God allows adversity and pain in our
lives, we are usually being guided to a door of “God’s Blessing”, that we
never would have discovered without the adversity.
Reflection
Matthew 7:7-8

Remember, in adversity or success, always knock on

the door that God is leading you to and it will be
opened.
GOSPEL OF
THE DAY
Holy Gospel of Jesus
Christ according to Saint
Matthew 16,21-28.
From that time on, Jesus
began to show his disciples
that he must go to Jerusalem
and undergo great suffering
at the hands of the elders and
chief priests and scribes, and
be killed, and on the third day
be raised.
And Peter took him aside
and began to rebuke
him, saying, ‘God forbid
it, Lord! This must never
happen to you.’
But he turned and said to
Peter, ‘Get behind me,
Satan! You are a stumbling-
block to me; for you are
setting your mind not on
divine things but on human
things.’
Then Jesus told his
disciples, ‘If any want to
become my followers, let
them deny themselves
and take up their cross
and follow me.
For those who want to
save their life will lose it,
and those who lose their
life for my sake will find
it.
For what will it profit
them if they gain the
whole world but forfeit
their life? Or what will
they give in return for
their life?
‘For the Son of Man is to
come with his angels in
the glory of his Father,
and then he will repay
everyone for what has
been done.
Truly I tell you, there are
some standing here who
will not taste death
before they see the Son
of Man coming in his
kingdom.’
PETITIONS
With all our heart and mind
let us pray to the Lord. Let us
lay our requests before Him,
saying

"Lord, hear our prayer"

Lord, inspire all those who lead
and serve in the church. May they
know your guidance and direction.
Help us to be understanding and
forgiving of all those we encounter.
Lord in your mercy.
Show us how to serve one
another, to offer love, care and
support.
Lord in your mercy.
Guide all those wh`o are called
to lead and advocate in the
world and newly public elected
officials, that they carry love
with them always.
Lord in your mercy.
Inspire our leaders, NDDU
faculty and staffs, doctors,
social workers and counsellors
to be bringers of hope in all
situations.
Lord in your mercy.
Protect all those who carry peace
to other nations. Bless the food,
care and shelter they provide.
And Comfort those who live with
grief. Help them see the light of
heaven.
Lord in your mercy.
Come embrace those in pain and
physical suffering. May they feel
you close to them. Watch over all
those who feel isolated and alone.
Calm their fears and lead them into
peace and freedom. Lord in your
mercy.
For those who have lost loved
ones recently, comfort them in
their grief and heal the broken-
hearted. Lord in your mercy
Finally, we bring to mind any
in our community that we
know to be need.
May love and goodness fill their
lives.
Lord in your mercy.
