The Indonesian Communist Party was once
recorded as the largest Communist Party in
the world without having to count several
communist parties scattered in the Soviet
Union and China.
The PKI stood behind the full support of
President Soekarno's decree. The Guided
Democracy System introduced by Sukarno
was also welcomed by the PKI. Because of
the existence of this system the PKI was
believed to be able to create an alliance of
Nationalist, Religious and Communist
conceptions which was then abbreviated as
NASAKOM.
Partai Komunis Indonesia sempat tercatat
sebahgai Partai Komunis terbesar di dunia
tanpa harus dengan menghitung beberapa
partai komunis yang tersebar di Uni Soviet
dan Tiongkok.
PKI berdiri dibelakang dukungan penuh
dekrit presiden Soekarno. Sistem Demokrasi
Terpimpin yang diperkenalkan oleh
Soekarno juga disambut denngan gembira
oleh PKI. Karena dengan adanya sistem ini
PKI diyakini mampu menciptakan sebuah
persekutuan konsepsi Nasionalis, Agama dan
Komunis yang kemudian disingkat dengan
NASAKOM.

 The G30S PKI event began on October
1. Starting with the kidnapping of 7 generals
consisting of army staff members by a group of
troops moving from the Air Field to southern
Jakarta. Three of the seven generals were killed
in their homes, namely Ahmad Yani, M.T.
Haryono and D.I. Panjaitan.
Meanwhile the other three targets,
namely Soeprapto, S. Parman and Sutoyo were
captured alive. Abdul Harris Nasution, who was
the main target of the group of troops, managed
to escape after trying to jump over the border
wall of the Iraqi embassy. Even so, Pierre
Tendean was arrested and the daughter of
Abdul Haris Nasution, Ade Irma S. Nasution was
shot dead on October 6 by the ambush team.
Peristiwa G30S PKI bermula pada tanggal 1
Oktober. Dimulai dengan kasus penculikan 7 jendral
yang terdiri dari anggota staff tentara oleh
sekelompok pasukan yang bergerak dari Lapangan
Udara menuju Jakarta daerah selatan. Tiga dari tujuh
jenderal tersebut diantaranya telah dibunuh di rumah
mereka masing-masing, yakni Ahmad Yani, M.T.
Haryono dan D.I. Panjaitan.
Sementara itu ketiga target lainya yaitu
Soeprapto, S.Parman dan Sutoyo ditangkap secara
hidup-hidup. Abdul Harris Nasution yang menjadi
target utama kelompok pasukan tersebut, berhasil
kabur setelah berusaha untuk melompati dinding
batas kedubes Irak. Meskipun begitu, Pierre Tandean
tertangkap dan anak Abdul Haris Nasution, Ade Irma
S. Nasution tertembak tewas pada 6 Oktober oleh regu
sergap.

 The failures in the history of the
G30SPKI events because they missed
Soeharto whom they thought was not a
political figure. One of his friends told
Soeharto about the disappearance of the
Generals and the shooting which took
place at half past six in the morning.
Hearing the news, Suharto immediately
moved to KOSTRAD Headquarters and
contacted the navy and police members.
Suharto also managed to persuade
two of the coup battalion forces to
surrender. Starting from Brawijaya troops
who entered the KOSTRAD headquarters
area. Then followed by Diponegoro troops
who fled to Halim Perdana Kusuma. This
coup failed because of poor planning. So
that this condition causes the soldiers who
are on Merdeka Square to protect the
President at the Palace.
Tinta kegagalan tertulis dalam sejarah
peristiwa G30SPKI karena mereka melewatkan
Soeharto yang mereka kira bukan seorang tokoh
politik. Salah seorang tentangga beliau memberi
tahu pada Soeharto tentang hilangnya para
Jenderal serta penembakan yang terjadi pada jam
setengah 6 pagi. Mendengar berita tersebut,
Soeharto pun segera bergerak ke Markas
KOSTRAD dan menghubungi anggota angkatan laut
dan polisi.
Soeharto juga berhasil membujuk dua dari
batalion pasukan kudeta untuk menyerah. Dimulai
dari pasukan Brawijaya yang masuk ke dalam area
markas KOSTRAD. Kemudian disusul dengan
pasukan Diponegoro yang kabur menuju Halim
Perdana Kusuma.
Kudeta ini juga gagal dikarenakan perencanaan
yang kirang matang. Sehingga kondisi ini
menyebabkan para tentara yang berada di
Lapangan Merdeka kehausan akan
impresi mereka untuk melindungi Presiden di
Istana.
 G30S PKI ended at 7 pm. Soeharto's
forces succeeded in taking over all the
facilities which had previously been
controlled by the G30S PKI. At 9 pm
Soeharto and Nasution announced that he
was now taking over an army that had been
controlled by the PKI and would continue to
try to destroy the counter-revolutionary
forces to protect Soekarno's position.
Suharto returned an ultimatum which
this time was specifically aimed at troops at
Halim. Shortly thereafter, Soekarno left
Halim Perdana Kusuma to immediately
head to the other presidential palace in
Bogor. The seven bodies of people killed
and wasted at Lubang Buaya on October 3
were successfully found and buried on
October 5.
G 30 S PKI bisa berakhir pada jam 7 malam,
pasukan pimpinan Soeharto berhasil mengambil
alih atas semua fasilitas yang sebelumnya pernah
dikuasai oleh G 30 S PKI. Jam 9 malam Soeharto
bersama dengan Nasution mengumumkan bahwa
sekarang ia tengah mengambil alih tentara yang
pernah dikuasai oleh PKI dan akan tetap berusaha
untuk menghancurkan pasukan kontra-
revolusioner demi melindungi posisi Soekarno.
Soeharto melayangkan kembali sebuah
ultimatum yang kali ini ditujukan khusus kepada
pasukan di Halim. Tak berapa lama kemudian,
Soekarno meninggalkan halim perdana kusuma
untuk segra menuju ke istana presiden lainnya
yang ada di Bogor. Ketujuh jasad orang yang
terbunuh dan terbuang di Lubang Buaya pada
tanggal 3 Oktober berhasil ditemukan dan
dikuburkan secara layak pada tanggal 5 Oktober.
