LURICATING OIL SYSTEM

FOR VESSEL
INTRODUCTION

 The turbine system is a rotary mechanical device that extracts energy from
fluid flow and it generates the power.
 If the turbine parameters move to an abnormal condition, it will cause a very
high damage.
 In this SCAM project, it mainly focuses on monitoring and controlling of the
ship system.
 In order to overcome the drawbacks in the existing system the proposed
system is employed.
DEFINITION AND FUNCTION OF LUBE OIL

 DEFINITION
 Lubricating oil are viscous liquid used for lubricating oil moving part of engines and
machines. Ex engine oils, gears oils, hydraulic oils, turbine oils, grease etc.
 FUNCTIONS
 used to reduce friction between moving surfaces.
 Remove heat from working parts in machinery.
 Remove wear debris created by moving surface.
 Provide a protective layering on metal surface to avoid corrosion.
 Removing contaminants from the engines
Type of lube oils

 Lubricants today classified into two major groups : automotive lubricants and
industrial lubricants
 Industrial lubricants can be sub-divided into industrial oils and industrial
specialties. Ex grease, metal working lubricants, and solid lubricants films.
NI LABVIEW

 Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workbench (LabVIEW) is a system-design

platform and development environment for a visual programming
language from National Instruments.
 If there is enough data available to a subVI or function, that subVI or function will
execute.
 Execution flow is determined by the structure of a graphical block diagram (the
LabVIEW-source code) on which the programmer connects different function-nodes by
drawing wires.
 These wires propagate variables and any node can execute as soon as all its input data
become available.
 Since this might be the case for multiple nodes simultaneously, LabVIEW can execute
inherently in parallel
PROCEDURE

 A research was done before the project start.

 Once the information gain the component were added to the block diagram and front
panel.
 The components were arrange nicely and correct to its connection in front panel part. A
thermometer added for the temperature, a tank was for the oil volume, a meter was
added for the speed and a horizontal graduated bar for the viscosity level for input list
follow by numeric control.
 Each input connect with the output components such as leds and numeric indicator for
the description.
 A title and information of students were added into front panel.
 In block diagram the components were connect with the case structure.
 Some components were need to add on constant values, to make sure the project runs
without any error.
 The case structure was add an description

DISCUSSION

 This project was design by using flat sequences , while loops and string, so
that each input can type their data’s.
 This system may a guidance for user to make the changes.
